ok so, i just finished all 5 seasons on netflix. i absolutely loved this show.

i would run through a wall for this man.

i just have a few questions for people who watched it season by season.

1. why did it end? was it bad ratings or just the right time to end?

2. was it ever mentioned as to why wade aikman wasn't the coach of west dillon in season 5?

also, what happened to the McCoys? JD should have still been in HS after season 4. i feel like they could've done more with that, but then again the whole storyline changed.

3. and i must say, the ladies of FNL are unbelievable.

i'm going 2,1,3

Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose.

i think it was just time but as far as ratings they royally screwed this show over. the 5th season was played on some crazy satellite channel then after that ended it came on nbc. they also had crazy arse long breaks here and there they never gave it a fair shot

not really. it just was like the biggest cliffhanger ever.

season 3 was by far my favorite.

NBC has fricked many shows in the past as well. scrubs got the shaft big time on NBC, as did my name is earl.

FNL had a habit of just dropping storylines. I don't think they ever explained what happened to Wade Aikman (that name makes me ).

As far as the McCoy's go, I think we should just assume that they moved away. IIRC, they had very minor roles in season 4.

i really hated the Landy/Tyra murder nonsense.

i guess it was nec in order to get them closer, but she treated him like a piece of shite. that was some shite.

I think they basically led everyone to believe that when East Dillon beat West Dillon, the McCoys left and Aikman was run out of town with them for letting Coach Taylor go to East Dillon, cause I believe Mac was coach of West Dillon in season 5

yea, he was. after Vince threw that 65 yd TD pass, you could see Mac walkin on the sidelines with his head down.

lyla is so goddamned fine

i think the concept of the show was just hard to keep up...i mean for the 1st 2-3 seasons they establish Riggins, Coach & his family, Saracen, Landry, etc. as the main crew and of course most of those characters will move on...people probably just didn't take to the East Dillon thing and then of course NBC fricked the show by putting it on Friday nights.

As much as I loved the show, Landry was by FAR the worst character on it. I rejoiced when he finally graduated.

best football tv show OR movie ever. I think they didn't start off with very good ratings. It didn't start picking up steam until the last season and I guess by then it was too late. I didn't even hear about it until the 4th season.

Last I read it was greenlit, and the story was going to be along the lines of Mike Leach's story at Texas Tech

Great show. Best drama on network television. I believe NBC didn't know how to market the show. I didn't start watching until after it was canceled. Great show. Clear Eyes Full Hearts Can't Lose. BTW season 2 occurred during the writer's strike which was why so many of those plot lines were left dangling

I liked Landry when he was just Saracen's friend but once they started writing stuff for him(pretty much everything with Tyra) he went downhill.

same here i enjoyed him as matt's boy but the obsession with tyra and the murder angle pushed his character over the edge. tyra was a mega bitch to him too i wish he would've rock bottomed her
