I didnt want them together. I wanted to get them both back for the finale, just to make an appearance.

I thought it was fine not having every one come back. Part of what made the show great is that most of the characters realize Dillon is a shite hole town that cares way too much about high school football. The only people who stay are Buddy and the Riggins boys. I love all those characters, but not exactly role models. Would have been nice to see them, but Smash and Street had their goodbye episodes in season 3 and the writers had nothing left to do with Lyla.
Besides, Tim and Tyra are a better couple than Tim and Lyla.
Also, I don't think it's been mentioned, but I loved the Buddy Jr storyline when he joined the Lions.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Matt Saracen in other movies since then. I think Tim, Lyla and Julie are the only ones that have gone on to good movie roles. right?

Tim's career has really exploded, I haven't heard from Minka Kelly besides her small role as herself in an Entourage episode.

I know Aimee Teegarden was in some recent "teen" movie because I remember seeing the previews and thinking "aww how cute!"
I guess Lyla has really stayed relevant due to whoever she is dating (John Mayer, ARod, etc) but I think she was in one or two semi-relevant movies since FNL.

yup, that was it! Also I just looked on IMDB to see what movie I was thinking of for Lyla and it was called The Roommate. But also she was set to be one of Charlie's Angel's in a new tv show and I remember seeing gossip mag pics from filming but I don't guess the show got renewed.

Charlie's angels was cancelled quickly this past tv show season.
Minka Kelly had a recurring role on NBC's Parenthood two seasons ago as a therapist for one of the characters on the show that had autism.
Michael B. Jordan who played Vince on FNL also had a recurring role on Parenthood as a boyfriend of one of the characters. He has the potential to get big roles. He will be one of the stars of a new show this fall on NBC called "County".

Teagarden will also be in a movie called Love and Honor with Liam Hemsworth this year.

Easily one of my top 3 shows. Definitely my favorite sports show/movie.
Tyra's acceptance speech was awesome. The Saracen scene with his father's death that was the saddest to me is where he takes the shovel from the cemetery worker and begins to bury his father's coffin until his hands start bleeding. I actually downloaded the song from that scene.
Saracen was my favorite character in the show.
One of my favorite scenes from later episodes was when Vince and Luke were watching film in the Sears or wherever Coach Stan worked and J.D. and his punks rolled in talking shite and Coach Stan got in their face and told them to leave.
Thanks to this thread I'm bringing all 5 seasons on DVD with me to the tug boat next week and re-watching them...again.

Please do not confuse ARod with Derek Jeter ever again.
And for the complaints about Tim being all pissy once he got out of jail, I honestly can't blame him. Tim took the fall so Billy could quit screwing up and start his family for his son. Plus Tim asked Billy to watch over Becky while he was away since she had such a shitty life too. Boom Tim gets out of jail and Billy is crushing beers at the Landing Strip while Becky is a striper in training. I would be pissed too if I went to jail so that my brother could have a 2nd chance and here he is fricking it up again. It’s all good though, they mended that fence just in time for the finale.
