Please do not confuse ARod with Derek Jeter ever again.

Huge fan of the show here since Day 1! Really enjoyed reading all 6 pages, brought back some memories.
I teared up many a times during the course of the show. Saracen, like a few others here, was my favorite character as well. I cant believe no one has mentioned his Grandma. I loved her character and how Matt would give anything for her. Really made me miss my Mema.

also, i hear that a movie may be in the making.
I'm late to the thread and it may have been mentioned, but the TV series came from the Movie. A lot of the same characters were in the movie too. Coaches wife, Buddy and some others.

This thread makes me happy. I remember watching this show every week online every week after it played on Direct TV and I watch an episode on Netflix when I'm bored. So many great story lines. I can't decide who I want to be more, Coach Taylor or Tim Riggins.

I think you're thinking of the guy on Teen Mom

I think it was season two but I remember when Tyra was hooking up with some out of town business man in a hotel. She was a junior in high school at the time

Landry and slow Kyle. Separated at birth.

As much as I enjoyed some parts of the show, the ages of the kids was funny as hell to me.
In the pilot its pretty obvious Street, Riggins, lyla, tyra, and Smash are seniors.
Then halfway through the first season Smash becomes a Junior.
Then Riggins, lyla and tyra becomes a sophomore at some point.
I think Landry and Julie's ages change at some point too.
Its a HS show, if you have any intentions of it lasting multiple seasons you need to spread the ages of your stars out. It was just piss poor planning. Mistakes like that keep it from being anything near "best tv drama ever" imo.
Also it was pretty silly when the "undesirable" element all of a sudden shows up in Dillon when the schools get split for season 4. Howard should have been at Dillon High the year before right? Surely coach wouldn't have let a talent like that just sit on the bench.

Another example of great character development, was that black girl, Vince's gf(I forget her name now). I didn't like her at first, but over time she became one of my favorites.
Nobody mentioned her, or her relationship with Coach.
How he treated her like a daughter and could kinda of understand her, having daughters himself.
Lot of poignant moments between those two.

How about Mindy? Stripper to mother of three and actually sort of has her shite together. Gets over he jealousy of Becky and starts looking after her.
For the high school age problem, I agree its a bit distracting. But then every show dealing with high school does the same thing. It worked well for Smash and for Riggins because the writers had more story to tell. Tyra was up and down, but ultimately worth it, and Lyla should have graduated after season 1.

I completely forgot to mention her. I feel like I can relate to her, because her personality is that of my grandmaw's. It scares the shite out of me sometimes to watch the scenes where her mind goes completely blank, though, because we are worried my grandmaw will eventually have Alzheimer's.

You give high school sluts way too much credit, that relationship was completely believable. Probably more believable than Tyra and Landry.

i should've known that a hollywood actress would have pics out there from a dodger game.
you can pretty much search any actor/actress and they all have pics.
