I knew that crazy Libs and Trumpflakes are going to complain about this. Can’t we just enjoy the movie?

My problem with the movie isn't with the SJW aspects or politics. The first trailer and previews in the theater make it look like a CGI crapfest. It couldn't have looked more artificial if Dali or Ernst had done the effects.
When I saw other recent movies get slammed for excessive or bad CGI and the (predictable) circle-jerk over the BP trailer, I thought I was in Bizarro World.

Glad you loved it, myself and my woman just barely liked it. Her acting and that third act ruined the movie for us and alot of people. It was definitely DC'S best outing since Nolan's Batman, but that didn't make it great. Just my opinion. Liked it...didn't love it and it definitely doesn't deserve the gushing love it gets.

Don't see any difference between that and the tone between any early reaction for any blockbuster.

i feel the same about this as i do Wonder Woman. i want it to be great, because i think BP is a great character

Same. And I like Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler.

Wonder Woman was fantastic. On its own merits, not because of a woman director or a woman lead and not in spite of either. it was just a great movie and i wish it could just be viewed in that matter.

Except it wasn't. It was patently bad. Bordering on awful. Flat characters, flat character arc, flat villain, muddy action. The movie was saved by the charisma of Chris Pine and the glimmers of a future starlet in Gal Gadot.

my problem with getting all excited over the minority frenzy, is that it takes away from the directors' and leads' work because we're viewing in light of "oh this is great for a minority." how bout just saying "it's just great!"

maybe i'm just in a weird place about both of these movies, i just think getting excited over a minority's work, because they're a minority takes away from their humanity and overall body of work. i want to be able to praise Jenkins and Coogler for just being awesome at their craft. Not because of how they were born and getting one right at their craft

Agree with all this. Coogler was great for Fruitvale and Creed. Patty Jenkins only has Monster on her resume. And I haven't seen that. Only heard the hype. I have no interest in seeing it. They do both need to continue to get directing options, though.

Impossible

No movie with one of those blacks can just be good

Just like one of those blacks cant get into med school without help

/ sarasm

In seriousness though, due to the over reach of far left policies, there are now people that always assume anything with a minority that is liked or successful, is only because they are a minority.....

Ironically I think the use of words like diversity, inclusion, representation, etc now elicits a negative response from a lot of people because it so often represents the first half of a political statement.

But the major actors in this movie appear to deserve better: especially being described by language that doesn't make them political tools. They aren't black actors. They are good actors of any demographic.

I want to see it. It’ll probably be really good. Unfortunately, solely Bc it’s based on black characters, the liberals who judge everything by skin color will be obnoxious about it.

I don’t care that black people are happy to see black superheroes. That’s perfectly normal. But just in some of those Twitter remarks you can see how outlandish the praise is. Wakandia is the utopia that Africa would be if not for the white man! Thats an ugly side to the praise.

Liberals will always make everything about race and black audiences will love it, and that’s annoying. but I’m expecting to love it too. Hopefully it isn’t preachy.

Most people DGAF, especially when it's something like a Marvel movie. However the majority of TD is not those people.

I wish you were right about most people but I don't think that's the case anymore. Things have steadily gotten more political in formerly less political mainstream media like newspapers, cable news, and even social networking sites like facebook or twitter.

Some of this is clearly because some activists have looked for areas of entertainment in which to make statements. Thus we end up with gamergate, or ghostbusters, or TLJ. Video games and hollywood movies used to be an object of attention of the social conservative right but have more recently become statement areas for the social activist left.

The point is you can’t really trust the critics to tell you whether or not it’s a good movie. I do expect it to be a good movie. But even if it’s a horrible one (once again which I doubt) few of any critics will say it is.

I liked Creed, and this is only the director's third film.

The guy playing Black Panther was awesome in Civil War and the previews have been cool.

But these reviews are so obnoxious:

It's 100% African & it is dope af.

emotional & complex story about family ties & protecting your tribe.

the action is predictably awful, but this is the first MCU film that has an actual sense of identity & history & the women steal the show!

A superhero movie about why representation & identity matters, and how tragic it is when those things are denied to people.

Marvels most political movie.

BLACK PANTHER is black as frick and I love it for it.

I envision something like Coming to America with costumes and claws.

The royal penis is clean your highness.
