No it doesn't. It can, but for certain types of roles and films it is totally necessary.

DDL chews all sorts of sceneary as Both Bill the Butcher and Plainview.

Serkis is a master of it to, he can overact while seeming completely believable all at the same time.

until Ryan Coogler makes a bad film I have no reason to believe that he ever will.

This is a weird thing to say seeing as he only has 2 credits to his name, both staring Michael B Jordan and the first one almost no one has heard of and the second one was guaranteed to be watched because it's a Rocky movie.

He's only made 3 movies, one of which isn't released yet. The law of averages says he'll eventually make a bad movie.

Every time there's a new Best Marvel Movie Ever, the former Best Marvel Movie Ever's cast and director have to write a fat check to the bloggers union & pension fund. It's true look it up

I get what you're saying, but very few directors make movies as good as Fruitvale Station and Creed in their freshman and sophmore efforts.

Hell, there are plenty of directors that never make films as good as those two.

Well sure, but until he does I have no reason to think he will.

Can’t wait to see the SJW reaction when this ends up the lowest grossing Marvel movie yet.

The Incredible Hulk only made $263 million worldwide and is the least successful MCU film by a long shot.

The odds that it makes less than that are extremely low.

I'm talking about actors that can own any role to the point where they are fascinating to watch no matter how "over-the-top" that role might be.

Think Daniel Day Lewis, Walton Goggins, Gary Oldman, etc.

He meets jen yamato’s request on being a black guy, so obviously his opinion is more important.

They really missed an opportunity by not having tBP re imagined as an African transgender. It could've been the first movie in history to win an Oscar AND a Nobel Prize.

Small thinking IMO.

Michael B Jordan is criminally underrated as an actor.

Chadwick Boseman already owned basically every scene with his character in Civil War.

Thank god for these two. I was worried what would happened to all the roles for black actors after Denzell, Sam, Forrest and Morgan pass away

I think it is more of the tone of the reviews.

Don't see any difference between that and the tone between any early reaction for any blockbuster.

Isn't Daniel Kaluuya also in this movie?

Some fantastic younger talent in this movie. I'm not really a fan of comic book movies, but the acting talent makes me want to go see it.
