I dig all the disaster movies. Poseidon Adventure, Towering Inferno, Airport, Avalanche, Earthquake... I eat that shite up.
Eastwood put out a lot of high quality stuff too.

Your list makes me wish I had more time on my hands to watch classic movies. For my money, the 1970s was far-and-away the best decade for cinema. I've heard experts credit the Vietnam experience and news coverage of the war being beamed into everyone's homes as a catalyst for many of these amazing and bold films.

Granted I looked quickly but I cant believe no one has posted The French Connection. One of my favorites from the 70s.
If I can offer another suggestion, watch the CNN Movies episode about the 70s. Its well done and I picked up a few I had missed.
