Being anthology series, True Detective season one deserves consideration. And regardless of series, how has it not been mentioned?
Because the thread title says movie. Otherwise it's obviously TD.

Great movie. I just posted this before I saw your mention.
"You're good kid, but as long as I'm around, you'll always be second best."

Easy Rider for the win….motorcycle ride along the Mississippi from KrotzSprings to Melville
My whole family is from Melville so we would drive by that spot often. It's the Atchafalaya River, though. Someone put up a Captain America star in recent years.

Blonde Ambition in late 2000’s.
Not my favorite movie but met and talked with Willie Nelson for 20 minutes. Was coming out of a barber shop in downtown Minden. He was just sitting on a bench just outside chilling while they were filming a scene just up the street that he wasn’t in. Really cool dude.
A few days later saw Jessica Simpson in St Vincent Mall. Later as were were leaving and walking across parking lot, she almost ran over my 6 year old son in a big black Chevy Suburban she was driving.

Enjoyed Live and Let Die as a Louisiana movie.
Another that I do not think has been mentioned is
UNHINGED
with Russell Crowe.
Worth the watch.

Two Guns is a guilty pleasure movie of mine.

Just remembered another one that was pretty good.
"Johnny Handsome" with Mickey Rourke, Ellen Barkin, Morgan Freeman, Forrest Whitaker that came out in 89.
