I'm willing to bet he has little to do with the show. His name is just window dressing to me. This season definitely hasn't been as engaging. I just need Noah Wyle to make another Librarian movie. I love those!

I'm really starting to fricking hate that little kid Matt.

Welcome aboard...plenty of room on the "I fricking hate the youngest son" bandwagon. I'm driving.

And Spielberg is supposed to be producing/directing this shite right? This is disappointing for him.

I always remind myself that Spielberg is involved and that explains why every 15 minutes or so we get some sort of faux family "awwww" moments or whatever, but it's getting tiresome since I don't really care about many of the characters.

Also, I am finding it really hard to take the show's "dramatic" moments seriously at all. I don't know if it's just bad writing (maybe) or bad acting (definitely), or both...but I always cringe when they try to make things dramatic or get serious. I love Will Patton, but even he sucks at doing this on this show.

All the Pope/Tom bullshite last night was SOOO forced. You mean to tell me that the best you could do to make them fight each other was for Pope to put a dead snake on Tom? Tom would be THAT pissed off about it that they'd duke it out (and pull knives on each other ) in the middle of the forest as they're being chased/hunted by skitters? Whatever. And one minute they're fighting for survival and having decent conversation (I actually liked Pope's little backstory about his kids...might be the first time I haven't hated Pope), and the next they're calling each other assholes and fighting. It just felt really weird.

Still hate the youngest son. A fricking LOT. And they keep giving him more and more screen time. But at least that means we get less Hal and Ben, so that's good.

Was I the only one who got REALLY pissed that they buried that woman and gave her a fricking funeral? You're out looking for Anne and the baby, and time is of the essence, yet you take an hour+ and clean her up a little, dig a hole, bury her, and have a little service? What the frick? And what kills it is that I was waiting for some sort of throwaway line about doing it to keep their humanity, which I could've bought...but nope, the only reason seemed to be because the little shithead son pitched a fricking fit about it. What a little a-hole.

they saw what looked like skitter tracks and human footprints, and just automatically assumed skitters took Anne, and now are gonna send the rebel skitters out since they are awesome trackers? Well then why not just send them out in the first place? That was strange. Also, I love how Ben is some sort of super tracker now, but I just chalk it up to the harness giving him that ability.

Honestly, I think they're trying to stretch this series out for a few more seasons. A show with this premise would be so fricking awesome if it went in dry, blew its wad, and had like an epic 3-4 seasons instead of several seasons where we have to wait a painstakingly long time to get a resolution on matters that are so cliche. Seriously, I prefer an epic few seasons over a boring decade of a series.

I agree with pretty much all of that...it's such a good premise for a show, but it feels like they're wasting time with it. It seems like there could easily be enough shite happening to never have dull moments, and fill up a good 3 or 4 seasons of awesomeness, but instead we get little Sha-theed whining all over the place and lots of forced "drama" and "conflict" that is completely out of place and it all feels like time-filler stuff.

However, I still enjoy watching it enough to not stop watching yet. So I, too, plan to stick it out and see what happens.

dont forget, Spielberg also has a bit of a reputation of "put enough money on the table, and you can attach my name to it" ....all the while, he is barely involved at all

om would be THAT pissed off about it that they'd duke it out (and pull knives on each other

it would've been more appropriate to the story if they had just started snapping their fingers in-beat ala West Side Story. That would've been more believable

that was the breaking point for me.

so...you in the "badlands" or "outlands" or whatever you call them. A place full of countless fights between human and aliens. What's that? The very first footprint of human and alien in mud? That's it boys, pack 'em up, our job is done here.

that's not "tracking".....that's wasting the day away because you were bored, and you wanted to look like you tried

The show has been renewed for a fourth season.

LINK

And David Eick (who used to work on BSG) will be the new showrunner next year.

LINK

Perhaps that's good news considering a lot of us have problems with how this season has progressed.

Well that's something I suppose.

This was actually a good episode tonight. It's the best one since the premiere. Didn't really expect evil Hal to act so quickly like that. I assume that good Hal was trying to fight back and that's the body hesitated tonight? If so, I don't see how Hal can not remember that.

A side note, no whiny Matt!!! Hope that continues.

Hopefully tonight was the end of the cliched bullshite they've been pulling the last few episodes. And it looks like this season is gonna take off now.

Much better episode tonight. Maybe the best this season.

And I'm not convinced Hal is/was the mole.

I think it might be her as well. She is definitely not on the level.

They definitely put a lot of emphasis on her in the oath scene. Maybe doing that so when she breaks the oath it's a WTF moment. I could see it.

Just watched it and loved it finally some good action and such. Hopefully this is a new trend and not just one good episode.

If they get Ann and the baby back how will they handle the hybrid.

I guess we are down to 3 more episodes this year so things should start to heat up soon.

Also does anyone remember when Hal got the bug? Did they clearly show it?

I was hoping for so much more this season, after this last episode (which I though was much improved over the last few) I'm starting to passively watch the remainder of the season.

Too bad they couldn't find a way to keep up the pace of the previous seasons.

Finally watched this week's episode a couple nights ago. It was definitely a lot better than previous episodes, so that was nice.

I had a few notes in my phone about this episode, but I apparently accidentally deleted them. But one thing stands out in my mind as I was watching...I still can't take Hal seriously. Ever. I don't know if it's the actor (I think that's what it is) or what, but I just don't buy him at all, in just about anything he does.

Also, I feel like maybe the pace of this season was due to them now knowing if they would be continued for a season four. I wish they could get some idea of how long TNT will let them stick around because I feel like the shwo would pick up and get better if that happened.

I think they stumbled out the gate and never could quite recover.

TNT sitting on their hands, plus MBg's IRL pregnancy, seems like it was more than the production schedule could handle. It hasn't been terrible, but I feel like (story-wise) we should be episode 3? Episode 4?....when, in reality, we're almost at the season finale.

Yeah this show has been way to slow also most conflicts that are introduced at the end of an episode is resolved with in a few min of the next show. It even only took them a day for pope and the pres to show back up.

Also are they just going to kill off the real pres like that? Will they bring him back.

He'll most certainly be back...he has to. No way they don't at least explain any of that.

I'll keep watching though. Not because it's great, but because I love the premise. Plus, it's fun to sort bitch about and make fun of, so that's a plus. And as bad as it is sometimes, I do still enjoy it...just not as much as I would like to.

Well shite....

I can't be 100% certain, but I think if this season is re-watched, there's going to be continuity problem. At one of the "betrayals" she was shown to be elsewhere at the same time. I'm fairly certain she was eliminated as a possible mole because of it. Or, it was really really shitty editing.

Season's been a letdown anyway, I guess I really don't care all that much

Lourdes is the mole? I never say that coming. How can she know what the military is doing and their plans if she is not involved their affairs at all and we don't see her involved with anything military related. That was cold the way she shot the President and very devious too. Pope is going to abuse this little alliance he has going with Weaver, I know he is not going to be a little angel. He's going to get something for himself.

The story with that family who robbed them and they went to get their guns back just felt like more filler. As interesting it was, it was filler to me and impeded the story line and the real important story was going on back in Charleston and the mission with finding Anne and the baby.

But it was still a good episode and it looks like this season is finally taking off for a few episodes after we had a shitshow of a first half of the season after the premiere. Thank god.
