Just got around to watching both episodes and decided to search for the thread. Everything I had to say has been posted but Stu had a great point with the whole

I'm not sure what to make of the new E.T. allies yet, although one would assume the rebel skitters would say something or raise a red flag.

You would think they would say something like "You can't trust these dudes. They're bat crazy nerdy sounding mugs that are always planning on killing everyone. They just try to weasel their way in and conquer from the inside (like in V).
Since they never let the humans in on this key bit of info I would have go with good guys.

Caught up last night finally.

Those are SO fricking hot, I agree. I do like how they are trying to emphasize that Hal's gf chick is more attractive though...that's a nice change of pace.

Decent start to the season.

I was shocked to see Locke get shot so quickly.

Several of the SFX were just plain shitty and looked terrible. I know that's hard to have not happen since it's just a TV show and because of the content, but still...looked bad.

Not sure what the deal is about the new badass aliens...I hope that doesn't drag on forever and we get some resolution with that this season.

I still hate Pope (the character and the actor who plays him). Also still hate Ben, and the little kid son.

Moon Bloodgood gained a TON of weight...was she pregnant IRL?

I like the idea of Charleston and that their defenses come from Cochise and his crew...that's a cool sort of "throwaway explanation" as to why Charleston is able to grow so quickly. Also liked how the new aliens shared their technology with the humans and allwed all kinds of advanced shite to happen (like the de-harnessing for example).

As for the mole, at first I thought it was the black chick assistant lady. Not sure who I think it is now, but that was my first gut feeling.

Also, the new baby is fricking creepy as shite. Not sure what the deal is with that..

I've been racking my brain wondering where I knew Karen from, but she was old boy's wife on Last Resort...that's how I know her.

That little revelation just hit me Sunday night as well. And yeah, Moon Bloodgood got huge. IMO she doesn't really carry weight well.

The new black assistant chick played Jeanie Boulet, the PA on ER that caught teh Ades by accident. frick spoilers I guess.....

The way Locke looked up so casually and was like "oh it's you?" Just made it feel like she has to be the mole because you'd imagine her being the one person that's always in and out of his office like that to make it such a nonchalant encounter. But of course that's just too easy so you know their little mind frick won't work out so conveniently. But it just feels like that bitch is prob under the harness control like Karen.

yep

which is what I assume is 99% of the reason they "skipped 7 months ahead" in the timeline. Bitches always be getting knocked up and ruining shite.

My only comment on that is that I wonder if they knew they were getting picked up for a third season by that point. Would it have been so hard to go ahead and get in some footage then before Bloodgood swole up like she got snake bit? But then again, I do understand they are on tight production schedules, budgets, contracts, and such.

you think?

the baby - who also grows at a extraordinary rate - is super creepy as shite. So, your newborn, less than 2 weeks old, somehow falls off the bed, crawls underneath the bed under its own power, laughs like a toddler, and all you think to yourself is..."hmmm, that's odd?"

so, in pediatrician school, they just skipped over the whole chapter in child development?? Hey mom - ever think about 24 hour surveillance on that little shite? This is un-natural, unless you were planning on giving birth to the anti-christ.

it really bugs me that they gloss over this - yeah it's sci-fi, and we have aliens and shite, but still, at least have the character react "normally" to this situation.

agreed. while that character is somewhat cliche (Walking Dead, i.e.) I can get over that - but the acting is so bad and hokey. All of his interactions with his co-stars are so canned and overly-dramatic. I think it's about time to kill him off.

I think she thinks she's going crazy. Post partem something or other. Most new mothers would believe they were seeing things before they'd believe they bore a devil child.

that's kind of what I was thinking. It's like she kept wanting the baby to do something in front of Tom, to validate her "is this really happening?" shite. But like all babies, they never do the cool shite when anyone else is paying attention. Only when it's just you and them in a room alone. My daughter was saying her ABC's and shite at 6 months old, UNTIL anyone walked in the room with us, then she wouldn't make a peep.

But what are we supposed to think about the baby? I mean is it because of Tom? Is his semen poisoned by Alien molecules or something after he was abducted between season 1 and 2? Or maybe this baby is gonna be the savior of humanity, kind of like an alien Blade, the best of the human powers and the best of the alien powers, combined to form the savior of the human race. Or is it gonna be an evil little shite hell bent on destroying us all?

Oh and I couldn't agree more on Pope. That guy is absolutely horrible. He's like a weak arse Snake Plissken or something. He has a fricking clever or snide comment about everything. It just really sucks that he's such a relevant character and I doubt he's going anywhere, anytime soon.

Maybe her messing with that harness removal machine messed with the baby's DNA or something. Maybe that is reason for the advanced development. Again, reminds me of the old V series with the little girl that grew quickly and had powers (granted she was half lizard )

This was a pretty uneventful episode with an interesting twist or two thrown in there.

There's another president? Are they talking about the one that lived in the White House, flew on Air Force One and all that shite before the alien invasion? That very same president? He survived?

SERIOUSLY!!!!! WTF IS UP WITH THAT CREEPY BABY?!?!?!

It's creeping me the frick out.

Craze dying is really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Other than that, uneventful episode and I hope next week has a little more than this one did.

frick that baby.

Agree on this episode though. Pretty meh after the great first two episodes.

The other president thing is an interesting twist but I can't shake the feeling that they're introducing too many problems at once. I don't want the story to get jumbled.

Again, frick that baby.

Boring episode

The girl who died had no real previous story so no emotional attachment to audience.

Fighting wasn't much who cares about human on human it's boring compared to huge alien robots against amazing human tactics and new alien tech.

No spy stuff

Hopefully next week is better

Just a setup episode, not much to comment on.

Not surprised to see super soldier chick from Continuum is really expanding her range and playing a soldier chick on this show as well. Something tells me that her group of survivors with the "real" president are actually the ones collaborating with the enemy.

And if crippled guy wants to go, then let him go. Maybe we'll all get lucky and he'll die.

At least this week Pope wasn't completely unwatchable. But Infant McCreepyasphuc is really starting to freak me out.

Agree with what most have said.

I will get repetitive on this, but I fricking hate the small son. Like, want to physically harm him every time he's on screen. He's awful.

Hate Pope too, but he at least acted a LITTLE better than normal this time (well, for part of the episode at least).

I had literally zero attachment to the chick that died. Zero. Didn't even know her name until they wrote it on the metal leaf or whatever. And if you want me to pretend to be attached to her, don't try to use the young son to make it happen, because I instantly despise everything he does or cares about.

Where do they get all this unlimited ammo from? They never seem to be worried about it and shoot mag after mag like it's going out of style.

I'm glad Moon said something to someone about her demon baby. I really did think either Lourdess or Tom was gonna see it do something weird by the end of the episode, but it never happened.

Also, this show needs to realize that we don't need some faux cliffhanger before EVERY SINGLE commercial break. I think that's one reason it feels like so much is going on (like someone said).

Interested to see where this "the President/US Government is still alive" thing is going. The soldier chick was hot though. Also, the sniper was terrible at sniping.

That makes sense. The 2nd Mass has been working with the US military the whole time, no way they didn't know the real president was still alive and commanding significant forces.

Maybe this president thing is in another Charleston type city and there will be a major war between humans or something. I don't know I think this HvH thing is stupid for this show, I hope they come together quick.

I didn't see the preview but even if they show up lots of action for the next episode it always fails to deliver.

end of last episode the girl locked up wanted to fight....
I bet the USA sides team up real quick and start to form a larger attack on aliens.

Show is getting kind of out of control with the 10 different groups....,
