I knew the Volm had ulterior motives for their alliance but it's not as bad as I thought it was. They're still fighting the skitters and will fight them hard.

Alexis (tom's daughter) is freaky as shite. I was like WTF when she pulled the bugs out of Lourdes and crushed them. And it cracked me up she was smiling at weaver and Tom while they looked at her like she had two heads or did what she just did.

Overall, this season was pretty damn mediocre. It had its moments here and there and a whole bunch in the first episode of the season which was awesome. But the rest of the season was a letdown,

Tom's present to Karen

I was saying to myself the whole time during that scene that they better shoot that bitch. All season long all they've talked about with Karen is wanting to off her, and they were standing face to face and were about to let her talk them out of it. So that was nice.

Trains? Since when can they simply hop on a train and travel across the country? I must be overthinking this alien invasion, but I'd think that most "normal" things (electricity, running water, etc.) would've shut down after the invasion, but none of that seems to be a problem. Same with guns and ammo...it's like they have unlimited supplies of everything (even shite like coffee).

So the Charlestown scientist learned the Volm language in less than an episode? Nice.

The Volm weapon was a little disappointing IMO. It's been being built (and hyped up) this whole season, and it is fired only once and barely knocked a leg out of the Espheni machine thing. And I guess the snowflake ship that fell down was like the top of the grid?

Boats? They've also had boats this whole time too?

This was a baaaaaad episode for Pope...he (the actor) sucked it up big time from start to finish. I cringe just about every time he speaks now.

So Alexis is some sort of superkid now? I don't know, but if I was Tom, I'd be hella hesitant to accept that this was my kid. They were in alien captivity, and almost every time someone has been, they've come out with some sort of bullshite (worms, tracking device, mole, etc.). But everyone just assumes Anne and Alexis are completely fine? Okay. I am glad they're alive though (as much as I hate each character), if only because they devoted SO much time this season to Anne and Alexis, it would've been so stupid to simply have them killed off randomly (and off screen).

Also, did anybody notice the conversation with Tom and the scientist about Alexis. Went something like this:
Tom: "WTF, my kid was born 2 months ago and now she's like 6. Weird, no?"
Scientist: " Nah, the DNA I sampled suggested such a possibility."
Tom: "So she's gonna just keep growing this fast?"
Scientist: "I don't know, it's impossible to speculate."
What the frick? How is it impossible to speculate when you literally JUST SAID two seconds ago that the DNA results you saw suggested that something like this would happen...which clearly means that you can speculate just fine on it, you butthole.

All in all, pretty weak season, but in the grand scheme of things, this show has been fairly weak since it started...so I'm not really any more disappointed than I ever am. Season two has been the best so far, and this season seemed pretty wasted since nothing really happened. As usual, I'll keep tuning in because of the premise and because it's not so bad that I refuse to keep watching. But it's on fairly thin ice next season (which isn't until next summer apparently, according to the end of last night's episode...wtf?).

I thought the season started off strong but lost some steam late. The last few episodes seemed kind of random.

I accept the things that don't make sense on this show because I respect it for what it is: 2 1/2 months of escapism. That's why I like Falling Skies. It knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything more than that.

That being said…I really don't know where they can take season 4 as the primary villain from seasons 2 and 3 is now dead.

I watched the last 2 episodes last night and I was let down. With all of the hype about the last 2 episodes they did not deliver.

The present for Karen was cool...

I will tune in next season. I like the premiss and it runs in the summer.

Season 4 is gonna be about the Vholm getting some kind of intel that Alexis is now the most dangerous alien and it will turn into a war of them vs whoever backs Tom Mason. That or Karen is now either Ann or Lexi..... Or I mean whatever was controlling Karen. Also, this entire season we never once saw the tall skinny aliens that are controlling/enslaving the skitters.

Oh and yeah, I'm glad Tom killed Karen, but I wish he would have heard her out a little longer. From everything we saw in the finale, it appears as if the Vholm are ultimately good and have decent enough intentions..... So I'd love to hear her reasoning on why working with the Vholm is such a bad thing. I mean worse than having to live under the Espheni(sp)

And I would have definitely taken them up on the whole relocation to Brazil thing. frick being a historically egocentric Team America frick Yeah fighting force. I'd be down there with some surviving big booty Brazilians sipping margaritas while this alien war is waged thousands of miles north.

Don't a lot of trains run on coal still? I know they've been switching to Diesel, but I actually think a supply of coal sitting at the train yard is the believable part. The unbelievable part is assuming the tracks all the way from Charleston to Chicago are clear and intact.

And nothing will top having long range radio communication ability but the military in Charleston and the 2nd Mass not contacting their bosses until this season. Bringing the President back in, really for no substantive reason, was probably the most egregious mistake this season.

What's even more ridiculous is all he seemed to do was aim and fire. Cochise couldn't handle that? Really?

You mean the weapon that was going to draw so much power it had to be doing something else besides being a weapon?

So if she can crush eye bugs will she be able to vaporize Mechs?

I think it was more like "Alien DNA, a fast growing kid isn't surprising" followed by "Alien DNA, how do I know what's happening next."

I'm glad the Vohlm are peaceful oppressors instead of replacement bad guys, but this season felt like a step back where season 2 felt like a step forward.

Yeah the fact that the track was unobstructed is what I found to be most ridiculous.

And I threw up in my mouth a little bit when Pope leaned out the window and let out his battle cry.

I assumed it was coal, but I am just talking about trains in general...we haven't seen them taking trains before (right?), and all of a sudden they can just hop on one and go all the way to Boston (or wherever)?

Exactly. And didn't it take all three of them to fire it (Cochise, Scientist, and Tom)? Like all three had to put their hands on/in it?

Maybe so, but what I typed was almost word for word what he said, and it sounded ridiculous. And the key word was speculate (which he could obviously do).

Yeah he could have used a better word. Instead of impossible to speculate he should have said pointless to speculate or something

Because the one thing in this world, that's NEVER impossible to do, is speculate. We can always do that no matter the situation or circumstance.

Exactly. And he literally just finished saying that he suspected that fast growth could happen with Alexis based on what he saw from her DNA testing.

This is one thing I like about the show...it's fun to make fun of. Like I've always said, it gives me sort of a Terra Nova thread vibe, except that it's a bit better than TN (even though I fricking loved that one).

Yeah. Even though I was disappointed in Season 3, I was more disappointed that it doesn't come on again until next summer.
