Same, it’s a silly arse comic book movie, it’s not supposed to be Klimov’s Come and See.

Whenever I hate on ANY MCU movie, I have a buddy that says "its fast food, its not a filet minot."

But there is such a thing as bad fast food. There is such a thing as a bad silly as comic book movie. Just because its a silly as comic book movie doesn't automatically give it a pass.

Iron Man 3 says hi. IM3 was just a straight up crappy movie. I like Guy Pierce, but that was an all time terrible villain. I cant imagine a dumber ending and the fight scene was laughably bad. Just not a good movie at all.

IM3 was as bad as you say, yes, but at least RDJ was his usual extremely entertaining self.

Eternals was worse. Eternals had terrible forgettable villains with barely any screen time. The protagonists and the actors playing them were all bland and forgettable. This needs to go the way of the Inhumans show and be ignored going forward.

It’s basically justice league without recognizable characters and even less back story. Not good.

The sequences with Arishem were great though.

Thats true. His interactions with the kid was a highlight.

Another thing that held the Eternals back was ***semi spoilers but not really*** them trying to make you feel emotions for one certain character that you just didnt have enough time to care about. Lets base half of the movie on the eternals emotional response to a certain event. If they were planning on doing a sequel, I think that probably should have happened at the end of the movie, where you were able to build up that character to create a better emotional response from the viewer.

I watched it. It was a cast of actors with no chemistry. They read the lines and followed the script but they came off as stiff.

Also, is was very weird seeing Rob Stark in love with "Sersi" and Jon Snow running around not brooding.

You’re probably right, but it’s funny, because I just watched it and am not completely sure to whom or what you are referring. I didn’t care for any of the characters or feel emotions for any of them.

Like said above, it was bland justice league but I think it felt like one of those syfy rip-off movies.

In the long 2.5 hour movie, there were a total of 8 scenes where one or more Eternals had a tear stream down their cheek. Five of those scenes happened in the first hour. I didn't feel any sense of loss or sorrow, bc I didn't care about the characters.

I didn't believe they were a family or had that type of bond. I didn't believe they knew each other for thousands of years. There was no chemistry so the jokes or sad moments didn't work.

It felt more like temporary co-workers meeting at the most diverse small company that's ever existed (Latina boss, Asian assoc. boss, Deaf speedster, Black/Gay engineer raising a chubby child with an Arabic husband, Indian jokester/actor, lost Teen, aloof/violent/schizophrenic White supermodel & two rogue White guys).

I watched the Eternals last night. I have no complaints about the usual Hollywood wokness. It’s there, but meh. My biggest complaint is the entire movie is cobbled together exposition, long, mind-numbing, boring exposition. I know nothing about the source material, but if it was this boring, it could not be very successful.

Characters really don’t exist. They are all cardboard cutouts placed to expound on a boring story. I could cut deeper, but if a movie or show is boring, there’s really not much left to say.

****semi spoilers again but not mentioning character names****

The female character that died Like it was supposed to be a big emotional disaster because the mother like figure died, but I was just there like, dang, that sucks. And that's about all I felt. But the rest of the movie everyone's motivating factor is kind of a redemption, do it for her type outlook.

Eternals had some amazing visuals and I enjoyed the new concepts introduced into the MCU. But the dialogue was trash, the jokes terrible and the acting wooden. The only character I didn’t want to see get eaten by the deviants was Kit’s. Overall, one of the worst MCU entries.

Oh. Well I guess it hit you a lot harder than it did me. We knew almost nothing at all about that character when it happened. Why were we supposed to care? Even by the end I didn’t know why I was supposed to root for the Eternals over the Deviants.

No, that was my point. I didn't care, for the same reasons.

If you take all of the actors and actresses in the movie and line them up by how famous they are; and then reverse the list.

That gives you the order of who put the most effort into this movie.

Hayek phoned it in and it showed.

It was just way too melodramatic. There was nothing to really pull you back in or make you want to watch it again. That works for a movie like Joker because that’s the point, you aren’t suppose to feel comfortable with what happens. But this movie just had no real human emotions in it. Felt like everyone thought they knew how emotions worked but had zero clue how to write them or express them.

When the only interesting parts of your movie are what happens after the story is over, you have major issues.
