The movie would’ve been better told in a linear fashion.

But the reason he was mutated was because of the Deviant gene, no?

I'm not too up to speed on any of this, but:

Seems in the MCU, Eternals and Deviants are 2 completely separate groups, no overlap. I believe this is different from the comics.

If dude is a) an Eternal, and b) Thanos' brother, that seems to make Thanos an Eternal. MCU story, not comics.
Thanos being an Eternal makes an interesting storyline in the MCU... makes his actions completely open to review now. The population Snap changes in significance, was he trying to halt Celestial births? They did state that the population needs to hit a critical mass to trigger the Celestial, which kills EVERYONE on that planet. Cutting the pop in half, buys planets a long time to address the upcoming apocalypse.

Holy shite…they’re digging deep into the toolbox trying to find something that will stick. Nobody gives a shite about these characters. And this is coming from a guy with hundreds of Marvel comics from the ‘80s.

They’d be better served to reimagine and build a coherent X-Men franchise or bring the Daredevil team back together than dredging up these obscure characters.

Moon Knight….She Hulk….I’m surprised we don’t have an Alpha Flight franchise in the works…..

With Dark Knight and Blade (who was born in London) in one scene.
Rumors of Captain Briton.
Throw in some European mutants..

Maybe we'll have an Exalibur team version.

This movie was a whole lot of average and then some. Bad acting all around, Hayek and Jolie were notably awful. Bad script and story.

Deviants are your standard monsters, the Eternals were really average to me until they fought Icarus then you finally saw them actually seem powerful. Felt like the Avengers could wax their asses until that final fight.

Can Druig control everyone but a fellow Eternal?

Is this the most recent movie within the MCU? When do other films start referencing a fricking giant coming up out of the Pacific Ocean

If something that big crawled up from the earths core, would not the entire planet be fricked regardless of if it was killed or not?

Stopped by watching after 5 minutes.

We have superheroes who travel on interstellar spaceships. They don't even have to dress, light comes out of the wall, creates clothes on their bodies. They work for the celestials, who can create stars. Yet no one can get the deaf guy a hearing aid, or fix his hearing? Wtf?

"Hey, where is deaf guy superhero?"
"He went on a solo mission, didn't make it. Bad guys snuck up behind him. Never heard em coming."

I don't care if they try to explain this away they dialogue or character development, it's stupid.

Movie is dogshit.

Daredevil has been re-introduced and the X-Men are so lucrative they will most definitely be introduced (I'm thinking the next Dr. Strange movie might have a part to play in that).

I liked the idea of it, but I think they made it so big that it creates plot holes. I mean, they made it so big that the parts that emerged would displace enough water to raise the sea levels.

Look at that! Just the head alone has to displace as much water as Madagascar (the island, not the movie). That's something like 200k sqmi of water displaced in surface area alone.

They would have been far better off with backing Tiamut down to the traditional Celestial size.

This would’ve been much better stretched out as a Disney + show but I doubt they wanted to pay all these actors for that. Should’ve downgraded actors for some of the roles and done a short series

I watched this over the weekend and it super-sucked.

Hayek - Horrible
Jolie- Horrible
Black Gay Dude - Horrible
Ikaris - Horrible
Boy-Girl Thing - Horrible

The other 3 were tolerable.

This movie would be rated an abortion IMHO.

I can't imagine that this movie would've gotten 1/10th of its viewership, had it not been a MCU property and tied into a much larger world.

Eternals as a standalone film, particularly as a generic superhero flick, would've been panned harder than it was as an MCU vehicle.

Yep, the days of automatically going to see Marvel movies are over for me. I’ll be waiting on you fine folks to clue me in to the watchability of future films.

I think what they did to Ikaris is unforgivable.

In the comics, he is the clear leader & main hero.

In this, not only was he an emasculated just-another-member, but they made him a turncoat Homelander/Ozymandias who committed suicide in the Sun.

Something I just wondered... Does seeing the curve of the Earth in scenes like this trigger the Flat Earthers?

Next thing you know they’ll make a Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

At least the white leader bad guy was emasculated by the heroic gay black Einstein guy. You know a certain segment of the population enjoyed that.
