This movie is almost unwatchable. We’re struggling to keep focused.

They made Jack Kirby boring.

It was absolutely shitty.

The best character was the deaf girl and it was probably due to her not being able to speak.

It was offensively horrible.

This movie’s midway point, the reveal of why The Eternals are on Earth is the make or break point with viewers.

I saw it an IMAX on my second viewing. One of the few times I’ll say it made a difference.

I mean my handle has Thanos in it, are you really surprised?

The shuffling of release order has certainly hurt Phase 4, but an editing that film in chronological order would’ve made the film better.

If you enjoy an incredibly slow pace, wooden characters that seem to stand around staring for minutes on end, diversity and shoehorned homosexuality, this movie is for you.

It sets up some big stuff, but you could probably chop out half of the movie and half of the characters and the movie would be about the same.

It really needed to be a Disney+ series.

Watched it today. It was okay but I had no connection with any of the characters.

Hell, the death that affected me the most was the very first one--the dad getting chewed up right in front of his son. Poor kid was orphaned onscreen in about as traumatic a fashion as you can imagine. I was really hoping that the kid would play into the story later, somehow. The fact that he didn't just made it unnecessarily mean-spirited, and way out of line with how the MCU usually depicts its innocent bystanders (almost none are actually killed onscreen). It soured the rest of the movie for me.

Boring and dull, They blew their load on Endgame apparently. But then C/D listers like The Eternals should have never made the big screen.

I dont count Spider Man NWH since it was a Sony movie.

Had similar issue with Shang Chi. Thought it was campy and not in a good way.

IMO, Hawkeye and Shang Chi were the best that Marvel has put out during this time. I haven’t been able to watch Spider-Man yet but I’m sure it will be right that with them. The Eternals was good enough to watch with my son on Disney+, nothing great but good enough to keep us entertained for a couple hours.

The beauty of the MCU thus far has been the weaving of storylines, more like a series than movies.

Half the characters may seem irrelevant, but they likely had to be shown to build where they're going.
Take Icarus- they made a point of making him "Superman", so far as even having the kid call him that and the joke about calling him Clark.

Apparently they had to put his power out there for scale, and then remove him from future combinations for the tale they're building.

All these early movies in Phase 4 I'd assume are bridging the gap for the future movies. Totally different shift and focus to the multiverse that it might take a few movies before everything is enjoyable again. Before, the plot was pretty direct and understandable. Now, they can do anything and it seems to be so much that they're losing focus of any singular plot

better question was why if they were all beings created to control order on a planetary scale why was she speechless at all? they intentionally created a being that cant communicate at all is just beyond stupid.

now look at the other eternals and their powers, 3 had real powers and the rest had parlor tricks and magic tricks as powers. does that sound like the powers a handful of beings would have and be able to control worldwide events and maintain order?

No, but considering that wasn't the purpose or responsibility of the Eternals, that doesn't matter very much.

She was using American Sign Language, as opposed to British Sign Language or Ausul which is Australian. The actress also created new signs for names and other things that had no equivalent in ASL.

they were there to kill all the deviants, something parlor tricks and magic were useless for, as seen and clearly demonstrated in the movie. they could do absolutely nothing but waste time until superwoman jolie and superman guy with ray gun eyes came in with real powers, to kill them.

it absolutely matters and you are just bloviating and defending the indefensible in this movie
