I saw this cast list and my first thought was, "Is this one of those anthology movies where it's a bunch of stories in one movie (like the Ballad of Buster Scruggs)?"

Nope, Adam McKay is just a great talent so people want to work with him

When they mentioned how valuable the raw materials of the comet were, then "What do trillions of dollars matter if we're all gonna die," then Jonah Hill said "Oh no, what if we're rich? That would be terrible!", that's when I realized that the story is a metaphor for how we're ignoring and not taking drastic action to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change. Do y'all still want to watch it?

Trailer looks awesome. Hopefully he learned from some of the mistakes he made with Vice.

My goodness some people just want to force politics into everything. Is that what Armageddon was?

A League of their Own was just about how women are underrepresented in professional sports.

The Patriot was actually a nuanced assault on people who are overly nationalistic.

Seabiscuit was a metaphor for how the elite mistreat the lower class and also a message from PETA about the evils of horse racing.

See? I can do it with every movie too

Well the argument is valid because McKay is extremely political and it’s already been stated by McKay himself that the film is one big allegory for climate change. It’s literally about politicians/regulars folks not taking climate change seriously and turning a blind eye. It’s pretty obvious

Based on the trailer, this could very easily end up in the "great cast, terrible movie" thread. We'll see...

It’s very clearly about climate change and how it’s obvious but everyone ignores it because it’s inconvenient.

But whatever. Get Out had political allegory too and it was still incredible. Regardless of how you feel about climate change and the politics surrounding you can still enjoy a well made and acted movie.

Or you should, unless you’re a snowflake.

I'm with you. The trailer paints this as a painfully indiscreet global warming allegory.
