Five episodes in, it's amusing with some potentials for greatness. The father-in-law/dad relationship is a fricking riot, the head nun could have her own show with just her reactions to things, everyone giving James so much shite even though he's the nicest and most level-headed among them... good stuff.

Great recommendation. Finished both seasons in a few days. Really well done, enjoyed every second of it.

I’m so glad I saw this thread because I had never heard of it. I definitely love the humor but the last scene of season 1 is what stayed with me. It was unexpected and so emotional to see the contrasts in the events. Also, whoever said you’d really appreciate it if you were a teen during this time was spot on.
I hope to finish season 2 tomorrow.

Hmmmm I don't understand this but I guess give it another shot.
Irish accents can be off putting, and humor isn't universal...but this is as well done a show as i can remember. Stick with it until you know the characters.
The episodes are less than 30 minutes long, if you seriously can't give it 4 episodes to see (two hours of your life), then I don't know what to say.

Thank you for this thread. I’ve been passing it over but good lawd is it funny. Wife and I are hooked. Definitely need subtitles and I’m pretty good at understanding Irish accents but there is lots of slang I would have missed without them.

Decided to give it a shot because of this thread.
I found episodes 1 and 2 funny enough to give the entire show a watch. Episodes 3 and 4 were HILARIOUS.
Haven’t watched past that but I love the show already.

Have it a shot last night. Definitely funny and I don't usually get into comedies anymore. I usually work while watching TV at night so I normally wouldn't be able to keep up, but I think I'll use this show as a short break from working. Hopefully it won't keep me from working.
