Conan the Barbarian is a Terrible Film

I watched this for the first time and it was incredibly boring. The dialogue was Star Wars prequel level bad. The special effects looked like they were from the 1950s.
There is no plot to the film. Things just happen then the movie ends.
I liked the music and set/costume design, but that was about it.

The script does meander and is sometimes ridiculous. The acting is anywhere from great to abysmal. The movie itself is bombastic to the point of self-mockery.
And yet... it is over-the-top awesome. Conan is the man all true men believe, deep down, that they could and would be, if the world were still a younger, wilder place. If you can't appreciate his grandeur, then maybe masculine, manly things simply aren't for you.
