Coming of Age: Pan's Labyrinth or Rushmore (really any Wes Anderson when you think about it) or Risky Business or At Close Range
Midlife Crisis: Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore or Rushmore (for Bill Murray)

This is 40 is probably on my list of favorite sequels that are better than the original. Paul Rudd is awesome in that, and it is a very realistic example of a marriage in a movie.

That said, Leslie Mann does *nothing* for me, though I do think she's good in that spoiled/bored housewife role.

I may have one that fits both categories. While it is primarily a coming of age story for a teenage boy, nearly every adult in the movie is going through a mid-life crisis.

Sam Rockwell is particularly good in this and Steve Carell plays an excellent douchebag.

Yes, moving on from adolescence to adulthood. It does take some of us longer than others.

Its been a while. Is this the movie where Steve Martin finds a dildo instead of a flashlight, and Keanu Reeves crashes his brother's dragracer?

Zach Braff has a couple:

1. Wish I Was Here
2. The Last Kiss

Garden State is far better than either of those though.

“It was an electric ear cleaner!”

Garden State is one of those movies I've found that people either LOVE or HATE.

It's weirdly galvanizing.

Ugh. Bullworth is the most cringe movie I've ever seen. It really makes me hate boomers.

Arthur is good one from back in the days.
