It'll finish with a high score, but a lot of those reviews are very lukewarm. It seems like some of the critics are just afraid of sounding mean.

Jeremy Jahns and Screen junkies just put their videos up. They're very mixed on it. Jahns says Wonder Woman is a better film.

Wonder Woman finished with a 93% on RT. I don't think anyone is expecting Captain Marvel to finish that high.

Out of 20 MCU films, only Iron Man and Black Panther got the same or higher than 93%.

What’s said to be Marvel’s most powerful superhero ever is served Melatonin by Larson. There is precious little texture or detail, ups and downs, or emotions of any kind in her performance. The character, even when kicking arse, is a total bore. Such as it is, the film’s best moments are provided by Jackson and a hilarious cat.

Collider Review

‘Captain Marvel’ Review: A Superhero Who’s Stronger Than Her Origin Movie

Taken on its own merits, Captain Marvel comes up short as a superhero origin story. By trying to find a fresh approach, the screenplay deprives its lead character of an arc and some of her humanity. The film itself lacks the energy and vision of Black Panther or even Captain America: The First Avenger. But when it comes to making you root for its superhero and eager to see her in more Marvel movies, Captain Marvel passes with flying colors.

Rating: B-

I think this movie will end up being the best Air Force propaganda film of 2019.

Really hope they tone down her role in Endgame. Brie Larson could single handedly ruin the culmination of 11 years of filmmaking. That’s impressive

RT is not reliable, they already proved that when their head guy, who was a Disney executive, pulled the Want to see score off their site. Then lied why they did it, LOL

Go find a neutral sight to get your critics scores, like metacritics. Captain Marvel score from is 68. With LA times and other giving bloated scores, while actually not really liking the movie that much.

Some reviewers are holding back criticism so as to not "feed the incels".

the best way to not feed something is definitely to keep bringing it up over and over again

If you actually read the reviews, many who gave 90 score, only did to bloat the score. Their reviews tell a completely different story.

And i could care less about the movie. It's a shite character, who's being pushed to be something she isn't.

Wonder Woman is an iconic hero, created by the egg of a Valkyrie and the Jism of Zeus. You didn't have to make up shite for her, or reboot her character 9 times, she is a bad arse in every sense, and has the bloodline to be a hero and protector of the world(in comics world).

But captain marvel is a shite character and they found the biggest dickjaw to play the character. She has ZERO emotions.

She can be getting quad banged by aliens and have the same facial expression as she does drinking a hot coffee.

Well the median score is 70 so its current score of 67 is not not bloated by the two 90s, and if anything, the 38 is more of an outlier.

The fact she's been retconned 5 times in the last couple decades in print form and is still a poor seller tells you it's a shite character. No one wanted this movie. This was an obvious agenda move by Disney.

Because "Captain Marvel" is a mantle, not a character. Much like the Green Lantern.

Danvers has been around as Ms. Marvel since 77. And if you're talking about retconning characters, 90% of comic book characters are retconned a few times until a writer writes something iconic that NEEDS to stick. Or when a crossover event requires a retcon, happens all the time.
