I actually liked TLJ and didn't have a problem with it like most people here.
However, the Finn/Rose stuff was unbelievably bad and ham-fisted with the 1% nonsense.
Finn is a terrible character but on the whole i enjoyed TLJ.

rich vs poor has been a plot point in story telling for most of human existence. i don't see that as SJW.
It is more painting those people as the absolute worst people in the galaxy, basically for just being rich and profiting off of war. What have they done that is so bad? In the Mos Eisley cantina alone there are much worse people than anything that was shown in that city.
If they are so bad, why they hell doesn't she try and save the three children while she can? Why didn't they ride out with them on those animals?

Forget that stuff. Think about how the movies have twisted the primary characters of the original trilogies.
What is Luke's primary character when we last saw him? Resilience perhaps, or faith, a belief in redemption. Any of those seem like acceptable answers. All of those virtues have been reversed without adequate exposition to make them remotely acceptable.
To a secondary degree think about the value of Han from the OT. His primary value as a person was probably friendship - and his two best friends in Chewbacca and Luke are deprived of much of any on screen grief. His son is monstrous enough to kill Han but then reverses course to kill Snope? Why? Did Han do something terrible? None of this makes sense but it all marginalizes the humanity of those characters.
What else are we to conclude except that the maker of this movie hated the original male characters, resented people who loved them, and wished to tear down that enjoyment because of his resentment? It isn't good storytelling. Showing the humanity of core characters is what every writer/director normally enjoys doing. What else are we left to understand?

I saw your thread title and came to downvote but realized I already did.
This was the only thing I really liked about the movie. The ability they have to communicate through the force was great but it was surrounded by an additional 2 hours of a mediocre (at best) movie.

Still not sure when this happened.
Leia chastised Poe but recognized the need for his command of fighter screening and let him repeatedly take initiative.
Holdo gave Poe a generic dressing down and played it close to the chest because that's command's decision. Not a recently demoted and grounded flyboy that lost their right arm in the evacuation.
Rey and Kylo beat the guard together then she escaped because she recovered from the lightsaber detonation first.
Where is the agenda?

That pretty much sums up the attitude. An enjoyment of things other people like being devalued.
Not in a constructive sense of making something new and interesting. More of a joy in the destruction of a morality tale that gave hundreds of millions of people joy.

How can OP not see the problems with the narrative, the timeline, the weird character development, etc.? This is honestly the only Star Wars movie I don't give a shite about what comes next . . .

The pissy part is that TLJ invalidated 2 whole movies with the shite it pulled....itself and TFA. You could argue, fairly easily, that it also shite all over everything ANH, ESB, and ROTJ did as well.
You are right.....there is a lot they can do going forward with what they did in TLJ....the problem is most of it has nothing to do with anything that I want to associate with Star Wars....I'd rather remember everything the way that it was before Disney removed a lot of the canon stuff clearly so they could do what they did in TLJ.

The amount of hate the movie is getting on the board is a bit ridiculous. it's a fun SW movie.
The whole movie is stupid. I don’t even care about the SJW stuff.
I just saw it and I honestly thought I was watching Spaceballs at the beginning with Poe’s communications call to the general. The comedy was over the top and forced.
Half the movie is pointless to the whole plot. All Finn and Rose do is introduce Benicio Del Toro’s character. They also have all the Rebels ships destroyed when they could have turned a ship around and did the lightspeed thing at the beginning.
Then Rose prevents Finn from destroying the Battering ram just so she can kiss him. She needs to understand she is in the friendzone.
The movie was terrible and those are just a few things. Leia pulling a Man of Steel move. The fact they wasted the Snoke character and gave no story on him, the fact they are so uncreative that Rae is a complete nobody after hyping her origin, and they also killed off Captain Phasma with limited storyline.

I loved it. It is prob the most "Star Wars" movie since the OG Trilogy.
