Chalky's son will get killed. They went out of their way to put him in the first episode and tell us he was going to Morehouse. He's going to get killed and Chalky is going to go all Omar this season.

Great episode. As already said, the jail scenes were awesome. Also dis anyone get the impression of Eli having an oh shite moment when he realized that all of his new powerful allies were old as shite or was it just me?

WTF?

quote:

The early returns aren’t good. The season two opener was down 8 percent in the ratings from last season’s average (and down 40 percent from the Martin Scorsese-directed inaugural episode). HBO’s inexplicable decision not to release season one on DVD until after the second season started didn’t help -- a DVD release still hasn’t been announced -- and neither did some tough competition from the networks. But if the rating numbers don’t come up, HBO surely will start sweating another set of numbers, the production costs.

Just had time to sit and watch this episode, it was definitely a great one.

As mentioned several times, the chalky jail scene was luh-git... I would not frick with chalky white.

Margaret seems like a solid gal who will do anything for nucky, I think he's going to rely on her allot during all of this.

No one mentioned the Jimmy fight scene... That boy can sling a knife like a beast!!

frick Eli, hes already regretting this decision I think.

great scene

interesting that the guys in the other cell knew to shut the frick up until Chalky gave the signal. I worked with a lot of ex prisoners and what they said about prison made me think of that. it's almost spooky how they have these unwritten codes and know when and when not to use them.

Wow, totally. I knew she was pretty bad arse after 1st Season and getting the free dress from the French lady.

His face when he saw all the guys in the room said it all.

"did he fall into the shoe polish?"

and Jimmy- he's also pretty bad arse. I hope he's still with Nucky. Why would he say "NUcky is like a father to me" instead of a "frick him" sort of thing. Especially to Nucky's enemy?

also, just showing how much power Chalky has in AC you can see where the Col is out of touch with the current state of AC and not wanting to do business with him.

I think she is going to end up fricking around on Nucky with the guy that kept looking at her during dinner.

big time foreshadowing there with Chalky, there is going to be a race riot or uprising by the blacks in AC and he is either going to quell it or spark it, which one is going to determine his future in the show IMO.

its like her character developed totally in one night, she's sold her soul to the devil in a way. she needs Nucky to provide for her family and will do whatever it takes to protect that.

we've seen how cold blooded Jimmy can be, he has that rare mixture of brains, brawn and willingness that makes him the most dangerous man in AC. as ruthless as he is though his one weakness may be his loyalty to Nucky, that may be an issue down the road.

Jimmy is going to have the Commodore killed, he wont do it himself but he'll be present and give the order in front of him and others as a show of power IMO

What do y'all think is going to happen to Chalky? I really hope his character is successful and isn't killed off or anything.
Also, I really am getting mixed signals on Jimmy and if he's regretting his decision to betray Nucky. It's almost like you see it in him that he knows he shouldn't be doing it and it's the wrong move but he just can't stop himself from doing it.

Was I the only one that thought Chalky was going to use the David Copperfield book to bash that dude's head in?

I hope Chalky stays around as well. He is one of the best characters on the show.
