great first episode! i felt so sorry for Richard, all he wants is a family but he knows even if he found a girl and had kids that it will never be normal for any of them. jimmy is going to end up at odds with the commodore and probably killing him at which point he and nucky are the two bosses in AC. jimmy attempting to form an alliance with rothstein says it all imo. he knows what rothstein is about and how he feels about nucky, he sees it as a quick resolution to getting rid of nucky and having the capital to take his place

eta- but in reality jimmy doesn't have it all. his wife would of left him last year if everything would of worked out. you just never know when another hot babe in ankle boots is going to turn her head

ahhh I remember seeing that part but did not recognize uncle june. I'm hoping he gets a nice part in the series, I really love that guy.

I highly doubt this. I think Jimmy was/is drawn to Richie because they met right after he lost his girl in Chicago...the one who had her face butchered. If you smell the shite I'm steppin' in.

Jimmy and Richard were in the Army together. They knew each other before Chicago. I don't remember if it was said or not but the dynamics of their relationship clearly spell this out. Jimmy's sympathy towards Richard and his looking out for him the way he does reveal this. Also, Richard's killing of the gangster that sliced Jimmy's whore in Chicago reveals he was a sniper in the military. Remember, Richard snipered the gangster from a hotel room across the street while the gangster was eating his meal in a restaraunt. That was an extremely difficult shot. Richard mentioned this past episode that he can't remember what he used to look like. Obviously he got fricked up in the war.

They didn't meet up till that Army post war hospital place. There common bond is the Army and the War but I don't think they knew each other before they met in that hospital. Thats when Richard said he was a sniper.

You got it completely, they met one another at the hospital when the doctors wanted to ask them questions about combat.

I half expected her to be chained to the bed and gagged. Like he would be holding her prisoner until the baby is born.
