Yes. spock all of a sudden had a black human sister. That has never been mentioned before. Though they use the spore drive and time travel to explain why. The Discovery was"destroyed" rather than go into time and the spore drive never existed.
But what they did to the Kilgons pissed me off the most. We never getting a hot half Klingon in that universe. Its spin off is GREAT Trek though. I brevet finished Discovery but just did a rewatch of the spin off and i really liked it again.

Then breaks up her ex's second wedding to a younger woman albeit a gold digger

eh....everyone focuses on the fact that two people could fit on the door, but dont ever consider buoyancy. the door clearly started to tip. and would have definitely submerged below the surface.
