Yep. I didn't care for the Chuck storyline much.

This guy is the best villain ever.

Two pages and no J + K = S yet? You idiots are slacking and can't see all the clues right in your face. Just look at the shadow and cigarettes. Cmon.

Outside of maybe the very literal last scene of Walt in the lab, the final season of BB was a jumbled mess. It was good, but S5 was a clear step down.

The Chuck storyline was tedious and pointless. Jimmy and Kim literally torturing Howard (replaced w/ Chuck, my mistake) to death was interesting but pointless. I never understood what caused them to treat him so badly other than they were just two spoiled brats on a rampage. While the storyline with the Cartel was absolutely brilliant an extremely old and tired looking Jonathan Banks kept taking me out of the story. However, Mike's back story with the cops was also brilliant. Some big hits (you can tell Vince and crew got even better at their craft), and some big misses and the actual ending (not the build up) fell flat. I can't fathom how anyone could view it as being superior to BB. They should have cut the law firm drama by 2/3's and devoted that time to the Cartel, Mike, and Gus back stories.

I tried watching this and just could t get it to it - I think I thought it was going to be exactly like breaking bad and it wasn’t to me for some reason

That's the interesting thing about shows and having something for everyone. My favorite parts of the story were with his brother and his relationship with Kim Wexler. I really didn't care that much about the cartel part.

Chuck continued to show what a deranged POS he was towards his brother.

I think he confused Chuck with Howard.

Oops. I meant Howard. Chuck was an ahole. Howard, however, did not do anything to Jimmy or Kim and actually tried to help them both.

As much as I liked Breaking Bad, I had a hard time seeing Cranston as anyone other than Malcolm's dad in his tighty whities.
Especially as they kept moving him toward druglord, I just kept waiting for him to have some goofy slip-up

BCS is better than BB in almost every way, outside of the fact that there would not be a BCS without BB. So it definitely owes the original show that much. But it is a better overall show IMO

shew wee I gotta strongly disagree there. Both shows are great of course but I jsut can't see saying BCS is definitively better. And honestly the pacing of them are at such polar opposite extremes it's almost not even fair to comapr ethem. BB is breakneck throughout almost the entirety fo the series. Constant action, conflict, drama, etc all throughout. BCS is a slooooooooow burn and that's putting it nicely. Dont' get me wrong that's not an insult or an admonishment necessarily, since BCS does it well. But hell it feels like you could go 2-3 episoes in a row where barely ANYTHING happens. And I get that BCS is very character driven, so that's kind of part of what you get with it. But still. Very, very different than BB.

Also I don't think it's "fair" (can't think of a better word at teh moment) to criticize the last season of BB as a comparison point to BCS when there were plenty of complaints about the tail end of BCS as well.
