Bruno's Tavern in Uptown NOLA for sale
Posted by ksdolfan on 3/19/26 at 4:14 pm
Only $2.4Mill
I spent a lot of time there in the late 80's early 90's
...Bruno’s Tavern, a historic Uptown New Orleans bar and longtime favorite hangout among Tulane and Loyola University students, is listed for $2.4 million.
Tim Spratt has owned the property and business since 2019, when he acquired Bruno’s from longtime owner David Melius. Located at 7538 Maple St., the bar has operated in New Orleans since 1934. The current two-story building was constructed in 2009.
“The current owner has had a great run with the business and is now ready to move on to the next chapter of his career,” said Aaron Kazanoff, listing agent and commercial real estate broker with Ben + Burka. “Bruno’s is such an iconic bar. People in New Orleans recognize the name immediately. It’s similar to when places like Miss Mae’s or Tipitina’s hit the market. Opportunities like this don’t come up often.”
The 4,225-square-foot property is a fully built-out, turnkey restaurant and bar located along the highly trafficked Maple Street corridor. It is fully licensed for both bar and restaurant use and includes a full-service bar, commercial kitchen with hood and grease trap, walk-in cooler with beer taps, private event space, office and storage areas, and additional second-floor storage.
In addition to its proximity to Tulane and Loyola, Bruno’s has long been known for its casual atmosphere, sports viewing, darts and pool, and signature menu items such as debris fries.
“This is a rare, turnkey opportunity to purchase such a successful business with a longtime heritage, combined with a great location,” Kazanoff said. “It’s especially appealing for an owner-operator looking to make Bruno’s their next venture.”
The property is zoned HU-B1, Historic Urban Neighborhood Business District, allowing for continued bar, restaurant or other commercial uses.

I have read that it will need to be de-thatched every couple years. Any truth to that?
If you bag your clippings each mow and scalp every year or two the de-thaching becomes very minimal. I’ve had my Zoysia for close to 10 years now and I think I’ve de-thatched once.
It’ll take 2-3 years of substandard baseball for me to panic. I don’t expect to win a natty or even make it to Omaha every single year.
I do expect to be competitive though.

Reminds me of the John Grisham novel Playing for Pizza. Except in that book he goes to Italy to play football.
If they all look like Jennifer Roberts I’ll allow it!

Pretty windy outside also. Good luck!

Are there any “McManiacs” left? One maybe, Ms McManiac, and she’s probably already seen the writing on the wall.

I don't think we'll be seeing the big fella at first base stretching for close plays like our last two first baseman, Jones and Morgan.

I’m just praying Eric Wolford doesn’t F it up. In Lane I trust!
He deleted because he realized he might not be done. Miami and Indiana players have until tomorrow night to enter.

The wall behind the iPad is a cinder block wall like the dorm rooms. You maybe right.

I like football, so the more the merrier! This football season is coming to a fast end so I get as much in as possible. Nobody forces you to watch and Hallmark is still showing Christmas movies for you.
