Best opening scene to a movie ever?

I hate to start off with this, but I simply have to. I was watching "I am legend" last night with Will Smith, and the opening scene to that movie has to be one of the most most chilling dramatic 2-minute scenes I have ever seen in my life. From the very moment the movie starts, I'm immediately asking myself what happens next. Tbh, I thought the whole movie was done well and very suspenseful.
So I'm curious to know. Is there any particular opening scene to a movie that thought was memorable or noteworthy?

I love the way Bond movies usually start with him finishing up a mission. The ski chase to the cliff base jump to Union Jack chute is classic.
The Spy Whom Loved Me
Sure, it's a little cheesy, but I don't care.

Watched Legend today and the opening is pretty cool and really grabs your attention.
First one that comes to mind for me is Star Wars Episode IV. The gigantic Empire ship filling the screen while chasing the Rebel ship, and then not too long afterward having Darth appear. I was mesmerized the first time I saw it.

Saving Private Ryan or Gladiator

It's quite humorous seeing Red Letter Media bring that up in their leveling of Episode One.
They go at length at all the aspects of symbolism that comes up and tells you all you need to know about the back story in 30 seconds"
"In fact, it's so genius I am convinced that not only did Lucas not come up with it, he actually argued against its inclusion."

To be fair - the opening scene is *SPOILERS* an old man Private Ryan going to the cemetery at Normandy. The scene everyone is thinking of is the fade in to Miller (and it tricks us into thinking the old man is Miller).
And the opening scene to Gladiator is the talking/set-up before the massive battle.
The correct answer here is Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I want to say The Big Lebowski but I think the scene I am thinking of is actually the 2nd scene like Ace said about those other two.
The movie blows but talking about the pure shock factor, the opening scene of Revenge of the Sith may be the best part of the prequels. When they do the barrel role and dive toward the planet. You actually get the feeling in the theater like you are in a plane.
