Oppenheimer...but I saw it with 5 or 6 PhD Physicists...which made it interesting. They all started laughing when Feynman said the windshield would block the UV from the blast because they all knew the story of him seeing purple spots for a quite a while after that (not because of the UV, but because of the intensity/brightness).

Dune 2 and The Order are probably my two favorite from the last few years.

Bullet Train and Dungeons and Dragons for pure entertainment. It was a choir to sit through much else.

I wanted to really like that movie. Just too much 4th wall stuff. And I don't mind a little 4th wall fun, but that whole movie was 4th wall stuff.

Didn't feel like a real movie or something.. it was odd. And I didn't like it enough to give it a second watch. Maybe I just wasn't expecting that, and it threw me off.

The apple girl B-story and its style completely takes you out of the atmosphere and it goes nowhere.

It would have worked better as a short film... after the first hour, the unnerving effect wears off and it might as well be a recreation of the Goebbels family home movies. I like the idea a lot, but it could've been handled better imo. Spielberg handled the same subject better in just two scenes with Amon Göth

Yep, you nailed it. I like the Mother bit - Introducing someone who isn't familiar with everything, and showing a genuine, human response.

I look at it as if I was going to (re)watch a movie from the last 3 years which would it be and to me nothing comes close to Godzilla Minus One.
