I always thought it was a little odd that the movie ended with the ALCS rather than the World Series.

I don’t think it was even the ALCS. I think it was just a one game tiebreaker in the division, which was probably done that way for dramatic effect. One huge do-or-die game to slay the dragon once instead of glossing through a series in which Haywood hits more bombs off Vaughn until Game 7.

The longest yard. With burt reynolds telling the warden to shove it and winning the game anyway despite the added time

Rocky (1) because that was literature - lost a split decision, but went the distance against the best. Best "loss" ever.

You left out Miracle:

Just like cutting onions when Ray gets to play catch with his dad.

So many people mention that part. It doesn't do it to me. What does is, the decision by Doc Graham to leave it all behind and cross over to help the little girl.

The Bad News Bears.

You can take your apology and your stupid trophy and shove it up your ass.

But the beer celebration with little kids, while wildly inappropriate, was totally earned. And Buttermaker learned to be a better person and even though they lost, at least they aren't the Yankees.
