+1 The international markets keep growing, so hitting a million isn't that hard anymore. Especially for a film like Star Wars.
I think you mean Billion.
Star Wars sells more than a million in tickets in a single large city.

I hadn’t heard about that. It has to be out of theaters by a certain date?

Another $25M on WED for #AvengersEndgame at domestic #boxoffice. 24% drop from TUE which is pretty normal. Has now crossed $450M mark after just 6 full days at $452M climbing up to #17 on all-time list passing The Dark Knight Rises. Will pass #Avengers Age of Ultron tonight.

Hmm. Seems kinda small for this movie. Does it have the legs to get it in the top 3 all-time?

It'll break every record, IMO. China is going insane, so WW is almost a lock. Breaking the domestic record of The Force Awakens will go down to the wire.

It's already #8 worldwide and #20 domestic - after 5 days.
I think my next cash withdraw will have Mickey Mouse on the money.

Came to post this. Sucker has legs so far. I think it has a puncher’s chance. It will be at 500 million before Saturday and maybe 700 by Monday? I don’t see anything dethroning it.
I just really dislike Avatar and want to see it dethroned. I’d feel less so if it was Titanic.

Going to find out how big of a chance it has this weekend. 1.6 billion now, if the drop is 50% it has a chance

Like I said, it's a near lock

I’m going to stand by my prediction that it will finish 2nd in both Domestic gross and international gross, but finish first in worldwide total.

Sitting in theater for my second viewing now. Only about 5 other people in here right now but it is a Thursday in Lake Charles and there are two big theaters here. The other one was pretty much sold out for this time.

Just amazing that Avatar is the standard. No one even thinks or cares about that movie.

And yet it is consistently brought up every time a big blockbuster comes out, despite coming out 10 years ago, no sequel or any other ancillary media of note.
Not bad for a movie “no one cares or talks about”.

It’s just that such a mediocre plotted and written movie (AKA Ferngully) was the favorite to win an Oscar. I can’t name a single outstanding performance in that movie. Zoey S did a better job in Colombiana and GotG. Sigourney Weaver was mediocre. Sam Worthington did better work on Manhunt.
Everything except the graphics was beyond meh.

And Titanic was a classic love story of rich girl/poor boy set against one of most famous tragedies in our world’s history.
Avatar wasn’t a hit because it was an innovative or groundbreaking story. Quite the opposite: It was simple, familiar, and easily accessible. It was set in a fantasy world using groundbreaking technology, with elements of different film genres combined by a director with a proven track record of deliver well produced blockbusters to the masses.
Will it’s sequels gross what the original did? No. But even if they ONLY gross half of the originals total apiece, that’s still 1.35 billion and that would currently put each of them in the top 20 all time worldwide. And with the HoM now owning them, you better believe they’ll be a part of mainstream pop culture moving forward.
The fact that Disney sought out the worldwide theme park rights from a competing movie studios movie two years after it was released should have told you all you needed to know about Avatar’s popularity and impact.
The next time you see a movie in 3D or in IMAX, you have Avatar to thank for it.

And Colombiana was released in 2011, Guardians in 2014, and Manhunt in 2017. I’d like to think that any actor worth their salt would do better in live action than they did years prior in their first and only motion capture role.
