I finally saw it today. It was really good. The only problem was I saw it in a theater that serves food, drinks, and has giant recliners. After my second Stella I fell asleep for about thirty minutes.

Why was it forced to lose scenes in China?

It wasn't forced. One month is all that China allows for foreign films. I

What is the question, one month is how it always works.

If it had been pulled early then, it would have been an issue.

So after a month, China forces every movie out regardless of market demands. So Endgame, like all foreign movies, was indeed forced to leave screens. Endgame was a bigger deal than most movies so the one month policy likely affected it more.

It wasn’t even just the 4 weeks rule, it got booted off of a bunch of screens after two weeks too.

If Endgame were to receive an extension in the market, many industry insiders think the film could make upwards of an additional $10 million.

No China extension for endgame

10 million might be the record, but just like in NA it was massively front loaded. That being said it won't make a massive difference in the world wide total when we are talking almost a 3 billion dollar movie.

We are still talking about the biggest Hollywood release in China and it is not even close. China did its part.

If they don't pass Avatar it's Disney's fault with this half arse attempt of a re-release

#AvengersEndgame grossed another $4.4M worldwide this wknd. Latest #boxoffice totals:

Domestic: $847.9M
Intl: $1.9246B
Global: $2.7725B

Now just $15.5M behind #Avatar for all-time global record.

If they hadn’t lost so many screens in their 3rd and 4th weekend they would have passed it already. They did the “re-release” too early and they should have had content that was in movie that they would have made clear was in theaters only. And not just a minute or two. 5-10 minutes of new footage.

It's going to pass Avatar. My interest now is by how much? Avatar will definitely get another rerelease to hype up the sequels. It could potentially get the record back.

Almost no one will be going to an Avatar re-release

Disney won’t do a rerelease of Avatar because it will be on Disney+.
