Just watched it. Great movie. Laughed a lot

Yes I love movies with off the wall plots and it's Ray Liotta's final performance.

This movie was hilarious. Strongly recommend.
Also enjoyed the mini "The Americans" reunion.

My son went last night and said it was great.

Elizabeth Banks is producing this
She directed it as well.. I heard she was easy to deal with on the set of Pitch Perfect 2 in BR from multiple people (which I guess is a good quality if your directing a comedic film about a bear doing cocaine )

my only real knock against Banks is that she got upset that she made a LITERALLY woke version of Charlie's Angels, and then was sad it didn't do well. my wife asked to watch it and apologized to it afterwards.
after the new angel got into her first scrum, she was hurting and a masseuse asked for her consent to touch her and work out some dislocations. it was just tripping over itself to desexualize an inherently sexual IP.
everything else she's done has been fine.
ETA: I have some travel ahead of me the next few weeks. i'll make it for this one.

She's always come across as a cool chick.

From the trailer, I'm not sure if this movie is supposed to be funny, scary, or both.

After a 500-pound black bear consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage, an eccentric gathering of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers assemble in a Georgia forest.
so why are the cops feeding the bears cocaine?

Husband wants to see it, so tomorrow we may go out for rare hamburgers afterwards.
To set the scatological records straight: Southern Black Bears hibernate (you knew that) and only poop when they leave their dens. Their first post-den poop comes out as a dense lengthy fecal plug. (The prof who studied them had photos, it was an alumni dinner so he didn't, thankfully, do a show and tell.)

Just watched it. It was so terrible that it was really funny

It'll make back it's budget and then some, but first week estimates are in the +/- 15 million range which I wouldn't call a hit.
I'm not going to watch it in the theater, but I'll definitely get drunk and watch it at home. It will be massive post-theater rental hit.

I have no hope of this movie. From what little of the trailer I saw, I don’t like their style their going with
I used to like Elizabeth Banks. Smart, funny, cute... but she won't stop talking about stupid stuff and destroying her brand.
I should be excited, but damn, she's shrinking my Coke bear boner.

This movie is going to bomb... Did they run out of ideas for movies?

well you can either have new ideas like this, or canned Marvel films or re-imagined films.
you cannot have it one way or another. people bitch that movies are either comic movies or remakes, but as soon as something different comes out, the narrative shifts and you get the quote above.
not singling you out Shadyshane, just an observation.

Honestly, I think it's gonna be a hit. It didn't take a lot to make, it's getting good reviews, and everybody is talking about it.

Yeah been hovering around 70 on rotten tomatoes all day. I think it’s gonna do pretty well.
