Garrett is from north LA (Claiborne Parish?), so this mention is realistic for him and not a total arse pull.

That kid wasn’t trans as much as a crossdresser or “gender fluid”.

In Blind Date, Kim Basinger is drunk and says she needs to get back home to Baton Rouge.

Yep! I’ve met one man from BR kin to him, and my friend from Monroe is kin to him. They both have the same last name.

In a Brady Bunch episode, I think Bobby is on a television quiz show where he is asked “what is the capitol of Louisiana ?” But he did not know the answer. Meanwhile, Marcia is at home watching the television and screaming , “Baton Rouge ! “.

Not that I can remember. I think that was all set in Metairie but they didn’t really get specific so they could use a bit more creative license with the setting

Not Baton Rouge but in Friday Night Lights, Ray "Voodoo" Tatum is a Katrina refugee brought in to play QB and tells Coach Eric Taylor that he doesn't like Texas and just "wants to get his arse to LSU."

I vividly remember on the Zack Attack episode of Saved By The Bell there was a guy with an LSU hat on backstage.

I remember a Christian Slater or River Phoenix film where the character has jumped around quite a bit during his lifetime and mentions one of his landing spots was Baton Rouge. Maybe Running on Empty? Pump Up the Volume?

I could be wrong, but I think his character was based on Ryan Perilloux

There are 28 pages of Baton Rouge being mentioned in songs. I knew 'Me and Bobby McGee' would be on there, but 'Do Ya Thug Thang' took me by surprise.

You can't go wrong with a mention of a city or town. Mick Foley made a damn fine living off these "cheap pops."
