I watched Halloween 3 in some theater in Baton Rouge. There’s a montage of kids going out to trick or treat and then murder people in random US cities. One clip showed some kids and it said “Baton Rouge, LA” and the people watching cheered. I thought that was a strange reaction.

The early '60 series Thriller did an episode where a guy inherits a house in that spooky, exotic place Baton Rouge LA.

I hope Mrs. Bates and her son Norman make him welcome with some good ole Southern hospitality.

Watch the episode on YT

In this Richard Chamberlain is accused of beating his wife, but for an alibi claims at the time he was in BR enjoying some "good ol' Cajun cooking."

I will leave it to the Food Board to rule whether there is actually good Cajun cooking in BR.

The Battle of Baton Rouge is mentioned in dialogue between Sam Jackson, Tim Roth, and Bruce Dern on The Hateful Eight soundtrack.

But my memory is so hazy I can’t remember if it is mentioned in the actual movie. (A lot of what is in the soundtrack is dialogue cut from the movie.)

IIRC he mentions Bossier City at least once. I don't recall him ever mentioning BR, but I admit I'm not terribly strong on the later episodes.

FWIW, the guy who played Rizzo went to HS in Port Arthur w/Janis Joplin and Jimmy Johnson

The Battle of Baton Rouge
isn't this a plot point of The Horse Soldiers w/John Wayne?

Not the city, but the USS Baton Rouge was mentioned in “Crimson Tide”.

I think it was mentioned once in “Breaking Bad”.

Of course “Joe Dirt” was from Baton Rouge.

I do usually take note when it’s mentioned.
