So Is that Galadrial in the photo since she's been around since the time of the two trees, which are clearly in the background?

This also makes me wonder if the show is going to take place long long before we thought it was originally. The Trees weren't around in the time of Numeanor.

Didn't Ungoliant kill the them back in the First Age?

This image would also be get me far more pumped if I knew this show wasn't going to be ruined by Amazon. They have gold in their hands and theyre going to turn it into dogshit.

Yes, she did by draining their sap. Maybe the beginning of the series will go over the creation of Arda and a brief history of the first age?

Not sure why it's a full year away they already wrapped up season 1 filmining. Should be released next spring at the latest. Season 2 might be wrapped up filming before season 1 even airs.

I hope it's diverse enough.

I imagine this show is going to have a ton of post production and CGI work.

They don't just shoot it and say "here you go."

Before that, even. The First Age didn't begin until the creation of the sun and moon.

A sapling of one of the Trees (don't have the book in front of me so forgive me for not using names) was planted in Numenor.

Everything I’m hearing behind the scenes makes me think this is going to be a disaster as well. They’re trying to please everyone, which in the end they’re going to please no one.

That was my first guess. Prologue. Just like they did at the beginning of Fellowship.

Either that or they’ll have “flashback” scenes scattered throughout. Cause everything I’ve read states the setting is Second Age.

You sure you're not mixing it up with Wheel of Time?

Two Trees of Valinor, Telperion and Laurelin, the Trees of Silver and Gold
Galathilion, The White Tree of Tirion, was made by Yavanna in the image of Telperion.
Celeborn, The White Tree of Tol Eressëa was a seedling of Galathilion.
Nimloth, The White Tree of Númenor, was a seedling of Celeborn.
The White Tree of Minas Tirith, a reminder of lost Númenor, was a seedling of the White Tree of Isildur that grew in Minas Ithil, which was itself the offspring of Nimloth, the White Tree of Númenor.
