2026 is on track to outpace 2016 as far as notable celebrity deaths, to be sure. There have been a ton of losses this calendar year.
I believe what folks are meaning though, is that the celeb deaths tend to come in threes, in succession.

I initially thought it was the comedian Curry that had the sitcom "Hanging with Mr Cooper".
He was 80. Wow had no idea he could've been that old. So he would've been mid 40's in Home Alone 2. He didn't seem like he was that old.
