Crude for the sake of shock.
I remember one of the first scenes in s2 of White Lotus was one of the characters checking his penis. No lead up or anything. Just blank screen and BAM penis

Ser Arlan did teach him how to hold and ride with a lance, and he has 'tilted at rings' meaning little targets hung from a wire. He has never faced another knight but his head is filled with Ser Arlan's advice on when to lunge, what to aim for, etc. He has zero experience but he at least has some idea of what to do.
I always took Dunk as fighting being his zen. He doesn't fill his head with much else other than how to fight and be generally tough and courageous. The books call out how bad his form is but how he makes up for it with stubborn idealogical persistence. It's part of what makes him a lovable character.

Watched both of them last night.
They were great.
Looking forward to the rest of it.
Just wish that Squire wasnt so mouthy.

I don't know that DUnk thinks about much in depth. He is generally a good person and like you said, he has no quit in him, Being his size, persistence is often enough.

Edit: apparently this was a book comment.

this is "book knowledge" correct? because the show hasnt shown him fighting anyone yet, except sparring with an old man for a few seconds

Probably needs to be a Maesters and Hodors thread like all the other GoT shows because there's some pretty big spoilers that I know if I hadn't read the books that I would be upset if I found out about. Books are getting talked about pretty loosely in here.

I deleted to not bring on any wrath. Other dude can remove the quote (that doesnt really reveal anything, but nonetheless, deleted)

Same. I really dig how "light-hearted" and humorous the show is so far compared to the other series. It just seems more enjoyable.

It won't take long until we can talk about a lot of this. I've tried to stay accurate to what things the reader knew Dunk had been thinking up to this point, and his training was one of them.

Wife and I watched the first 2 last night. Definitely different tone entirely than Dragon and GOT but we both enjoyed it and laughed pretty frequently. They absolutely NAILED the castings of everyone so far.
Dunk and Lyonnel have been standouts for sure. Can’t wait to see more.

Agreed because the non Hodors will want to talk about the lead up to the ToS

They don’t show female labia, so that is discriminatory as frick.
Correct.
The usual show homers on here are trying to compare a dong to showing boobs. They are not the same.
dong = snatch (and bare, not a giant fake bush)

Exactly.
And I respect PITT for showing a baby birthing.
