The only one out of all that I'm interested in is Deadpool.

Ooof. I see a lot of failure in that list. I will probably go to see Dune 2 and that is it.

Alien could be good. Fede Álvarez is a talented dude who can really build suspense.

Is this April fools day? Gladiator 2? A whole lot of prequels and sequels. Hollywood has truly run out of ideas the accountants will approve.

Not to mention Sony just throwing a whole bunch of spider Spunk up in the air hoping some of it lands.

Holy crap. How many Bad Boyz will get released? I keep thinking that “franchise” ran out of gas after
2, but nope.

Strong likelihood I’ll see in theater:
Dune2
Godzilla X Kong
* The War of the Rohirrim
Deadpool 3
Joker 2

Likely:
Despicable Me 4

That’s it. 4-5 more are possible, but just as likely to wait. Nothing looks to be opening day must see.

GxK & Dune are opening weekend candidates for me.

That’s all.

*100% this if it’s getting a theatrical release. Not made by Amazon Studios, so I’ll give it a chance.

I've always read that Alien Romulus was made for hulu but maybe they're releasing it theatrically now. People seemed to like Prey and the Hellraiser reboot so maybe this will be ok. Probably has a smaller budget too.

Good lord at the remakes/reboots of previous franchises. Just money grabs everywhere

That, and the cost of making a movie means studios rarely green light anything anymore that doesn't have a potential built-in fanbase, even if said fanbase is dwindling.

They need to find a way to make movies less expensively, and understand that a good, inexpensive movie that makes back its budget in spades is better than banking everything on the next blockbuster.

A dozen Deadpools or Blair Witch Projects are much more valuable than gambling on the next Avatar or Avengers.
