600 isn’t what he really is though, that’s just because he was injured and missed tournaments last year.

He is more of a top 30-40 player (though he also isn’t at peak conditioning right now, either).

I suspect when he’s really in form though, it would be more like 6-1, 6-0 for Kyrgios.

yea, his ranking in the 600's is misleading but I have to believe that he could beat her 0 and 0 if he was at full strength and with equal rules. As could any top 100 male. I dont think any woman could legitimately win a game on them

Kyrgios is a top 10 talent. Would be way more interesting to see McEnroe play her straight up

Silly this had to happen. Serena admitted years ago she’d get smoked by her male counterparts.

Gayle King says this isn’t true. She reminded us that Serena could beat any man…and she’s an astronaut!

I don’t think any starter would dominate but I do think the top 10-20 of college tennis would do very well! There is just a huge difference between a college player and a top 600 player in the whole world.

It drives me nuts that the US Open matches prize money while touting the whole “equal pay” bs despite the men’s matches bringing in higher ticket values and lasting 40% longer. It’s equal pay but it’s definitely not equal effort.

The pt everyone makes about the ratings is accurate, but "def not equal effort" - what's the mean? Women aren't trying as hard as they can? It's their fault it's 3 sets instead of 5?

Why would she even agree to this?

Female tennis players aren’t really like WNBA and soccer chicks that act like they can compete.

Hell, Serena admits openly she would get smoked.

Maybe she did it cause she’s not ashamed of facts and wanted people to stfu about it

Don't think it's fair to classify Kyrgios as just your run of the mill 600th ranked tennis player. At his best, he is easily a seeded player.
He can’t even finish a men’s match barely. He is 1-9 in his last 10
Men’s matches with an average opponent ranking of 80

Where exactly do your think he should be ranked? 600 is pretty damn accurate for current Kyrgios . His current form and conditioning are terrible

No

Your average p4 player would be somewhere around 500-800 in the world

Your players playing court 2 and 3 around 300-500

Your top college players are top 250

I think these guys are just saying, Nick is probably a top 50 guy in reality, but physical limitations and being off the tour pummelled his ranking.

Let's not forget that on 7/10/22, Nick gave the GOAT a pretty good match at Wimbledon.

And they are way wrong. He is 1-9 in his last 10 matches over the last 2 years and most opponents are ranked closer to 100

There is no reality where the Nick Kyrgios that is playing today is top 50. What he was 3 years ago means nothing . Current Nick wouldn’t be able to win a challenger

Let me put it this way. If a healthy Kyrgios played the #599 or #601, he dog walks them.

think about how good the LSU women's basketball team was in the mid 2000s... they were run out of the gym by the gold team that was comprised of guys who would probably not make any D1 or D2 team in the country.

Back during the OT pickup game era, once 2 women players from those teams (Not Simone or Sylvia but legit players) played with us and I hung with them, and I never even played high school. I always knew men were supremely advanced physically, but doing that made me realize JUST how much difference there is.

If you're a 6-3 or so male in high school who can dunk and is otherwise average at HS ball you would probably be the GOAT WNBA player.

Guy played at like 40% and still wrecked her…on the bright side, sabalenka is still pretty hot…despite having 50% build of a grown man

She learned this from experience.

quote:

Venus and Serena Williams had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside the world's top 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both. Braasch was described by one journalist as "a man whose training regime centered around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple of bottles of ice cold lager". The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park, after Braasch had finished a round of golf and two shandies. He first took on Serena and after leading 5–0, beat her 6–1. Venus then walked on court and again Braasch was victorious, this time winning 6–2. Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance." He added that he had played like someone ranked 600th in order to keep the game "fun."
