If that's the case, I guess Box of Wine is sponsoring this year's CMT Awards.

Well they are a big local company. I'd say that's legit.

yeah bc Tulane and their average attendance of 800 and UNO and their average attendance of 500 are such big entities in college basketball

you'd think with the attendance, bands, and tradition that FCS level players would be flocking to HBCUs
and i'm sure their fans have the same "want" to succeed in college football, so why do they suck in comparison to other FCS schools?

This is maybe the worst out of context comment i've ever seen.
If you can't follow the discussion, you probably shouldn't comment.

hell, we still have problems with Nola kids. those kids still go to "white" schools if they don't choose LSU though
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
okay maybe we're thinking of kids like Ricardo Gathers going to Baylor, as well as Javan Felix going to Texas, but college hoops hasn't really existed in NOLA since Tim Floyd left UNO

NOLA was always split on LSU anyway. LSU was always the most popular team, but by plurality lots of people there did not grow up LSU fans. It's different now, but you still have lots of people black and white that are not big LSU fans. I've also heard the bad blood btwn LSU and the black community in NOLA was due to LSU's handling of a St Aug kid that got hurt. Supposedly the St Aug coach at the time (mid to late 70's?) felt LSU treated him wrong and SA had a lot of sway.

nola is still split on LSU. it isn't a race thing, though. it's just a "nola being nola" thing

why are you assuming that if nola kids don't go to LSU, they're going to a school in nola?
that's a completely retarded logical step
who was the last MAJOR nola basketball recruit to sign with LSU?
gathers went to baylor
monroe went to georgetown
augustin went to texas
am i missing any?

Like I said, one of the most out of context comments I've ever seen.
No one but you said anything about Tulane or UNO, they have nothing to do with the discussion. Their popularity or lack there of have nothing to do with NOLA in general not being 100% LSU, especially with regards to BB.

LSU hasn't got the major recruits bc they haven't been a very good program, not bc NOLA isn't 100% on them

What big time NOLA guys did LSU get even when we were good? Outside of Livingston I can't think of any. The better La guys we got were from BR or the rest of the state.
