Yeah....that guy is an idiot. Pharmacy schools are definitely not a dime a dozen. I think ULM and Xavier are the only 2 in Louisiana?

Man, y’all are quite ignorant on the current job outlook for pharmacists. I don’t give a shat about the number of pharmacy schools in the state. That’s irrelevant! Nationwide There are too pharmacy schools now & not enough good jobs. I know a few who are in retail who would kill for a hospital position.

The heavy hitter money in Monroe is all about LSU rounded out by Tech and surprisingly Ole Miss. I

You would be surprised at how much of those “heavy hitters” actually graduated from ULM. Sure their kids didn’t go to ULM but they would support if the Warhawk club actually reached out. If you asked all the big wigs or successful business in Monroe what schools athletic foundations reach out to them for support 90% of them will say LaTech and TAF. It’s pretty sad.

You lose a shite load of money on the money games at FCS with similar costs

Not to mention bowl/TV/ playoffs split.

Tech is basically in an FCS conference at this point so they should know what it's like.

When's your next game on Facebook live? Need to fill an afternoon.

Maybe you guys can join the WAC again or skip another bowl in a desperate attempt to not get your cheeks clapped in Monroe

A bunch but supporting ULM is not the cool thing to do in Monroe until they win. 2012 was the perfect blueprint for how to get students and alumni to rally behind a program. Although that Cinderella season crashed and burned in Shreveport, it did light a fire no matter how brief it lasted for what this program is capable of with just a little success.

The 80s were an incredible time for basketball in Northeast Louisiana, and ULM made the Final Four in 1984-85 before falling to eventual national champion, Old Dominion, finishing with a 30-2 record and a No. 2 final Associated Press ranking.

That was a good time with them and the Techsters battling it out. Damn shame Tech didn't give Mulkey a chance but that's a whole different thread.

FCS gets 1/2-1/3 the pay in money games v FBS.

If that makes you feel better about your current state.
Tech sucks this year, but would you remind me about how many football games ULM won with a decent HC?
You wanna start comparing facilities?

That’s very true, but the cost of travel is greatest reduced. Also a winning program could bring back some NLU diehards. There is a section of that fan base who feels betrayed by the ULM moniker.

I’m not kidding when I say that ULM would dominate the SLC. So much FCS talent in north Louisiana that are overlooked because they lack the ideal FBS size.

I actually like ULM in the SBC.

Uhh not in Louisiana. Which is where we’re talking about. How did this whole conversation shift from athletics to academics? The whole point was their athletic programs moving down to the FCS level.

Mcneese would go in dry

You talk about a school that should consolidate and merge with another. Here ya go. It’s either Nichols or McNeese. One of these needs to merge.

Ah, I love this topic: people always want to talk about 'shutting down' these scholls, but that is not fiscally possible, given debt loads, etc.....but their missions should be changed.

I actually think that both McNeese and ULM should be 'merged' under UL. Neither of those two should be a research university, and McNeese shouldn't even be a university, more like a 4 year college, with emphasis on preparing for the many industial trades in that area and the state. This could be very advantageous for them....stop trying to be something you are not or ever will be. Cut admin costs by having UL do the heavy lifting for both schools.
Nichols I'm not too sure about, but this could probablly work for them as well. But given their proximity to BR, maybe lsu would be a better fit?

Tulane has considered it a few times.

Except that Tulane is getting a share of AAC money and would do almost anything in the world it takes to not move down and out of the AAC. Thats just below top tier athletic checks for just existing.
