LSU is the top dog in the state academics and athletics. No one is close on the athletics side.
Louisiana Tech is far superior to UL-L in academics and it is not even close. LaTech has a far more storied athletic history than UL-L.
Tulane can do whatever Tulane wants - their academics are excellent and their financial resource are mind blowing.

Louisiana Tech is constantly ranked 50 to 150 spots better than UL-L….if UL-L is ranked at all.
Most of the state ranking for academics are:
1) Tulane
2) LSU
3) Louisiana Tech
Those are the only 3 schools that are ranked in every major academic ranking service year in and year out.
Now, LaTech is a nationally ranked tier 1 and all but LSU is significantly ahead and Tulane is way ahead of both LSU and Tulane.
LaTech is usually a top ranked institution when the studies balance cost and academics. A few years ago, they won this title.
