His son doesn’t want to leave Jackson, MS, for some reason.

Read that back and tell me it makes sense.

Not necessarily. Go hard in the magic portal for that QB this spring. Isn't that LSU's strategy these days?

wtf is this?

A number that On3 makes up based on social media followers which means very little in terms of buying recruits via NIL.

If he had a shred of self-awareness, he'd pick a school and not take any NIL money until after his freshman year.

Why would he turn down life changing money?

This is on Florida's inept collective

They promised him money they clearly didn’t have. How dumb are these boosters? Did they seriously think this was going to work out for them?

Rashada was not going to UF unless he got a ton of money. I don’t think the unfulfilled promise of money was ever going to cut it

Also there is a 0 percent chance that coaches aren’t aware of what these boosters are doing.

Yes Florida has some explaining to do but kids basing their decisions solely on NIL should have consequences

Florida doesn't have any explaining to do, not only is the university not involved, it would sprout criminal investigation if they were involved.

This is between the Gator Collective (NIL front for UF athletes/prospective athletes), the Gator Guard (high level boosters), Darren Heitner (lawyer representing Rashada), and the Rashada family.

One point that keeps getting overlooked, probably because it presents a more complicated story, is that the agreement between the Gator Collective and Jaden Rashada was cancelled on December 7th, two weeks prior to Early Signing Day. Why did Rashada choose to sign any way?

Maybe they have it and decided Rashada wasn’t good enough for it… or that they’ll have it for a lot of coaches but not Billy Napier for whatever reason

In the future when your favorite team wins a natty the collective and money men will want their share of the credit

This sentence upsets me

Acting like it’s UF’s fault that this dude’s “career is in influx” is ridiculous.

He’s every bit as responsible for this.

13 million dollars? He expected that? What is going on with recruiting?

One thing missing from this entire ordeal is he's not even that good of a QB.

This $13M number that keeps getting thrown out makes no sense. We could have gotten any QB not named Arch for that amount. Certainly someone better than Rashada.

My guess is that he and his family signed some sort of agreement with Miami when he originally committed to them, and Ruiz put in some language that protected Miami in case he reneged on the contract (a buy-out/break fee if you will). The Rashadas probably assumed UF would pay it, but they told him to kick rocks when they found out about it.

His career is in flux temporarily. He was set on where he was going to college, in the mean time passing up other opportunities.

It's not on the kid for accepting an offer. If UFs collective was dumb enough to even float that number that's on them. Any of us would've accepted those terms. His life would be set without ever having to do anything other than fulfill his obligations at the school. Not even be a successful QB.
If there's more to it and UF wants to join the shite show and sling mud then let's see it. Otherwise, no way I blaming the kid or his family for accepting an outrageous offer. It's on UF(they are the ones being held accountable publicly and will face the real backlash from it) and whatever collective made the asinine offer them couldn't pay it, or decided not to.

Jaden Rashada has an On3 NIL Valuation of $450K. His broken deal with the Gator Collective was worth $13.85 million over four years.

An ACC assistant described the deal as “the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard.”

Said no one else, ever?

His son that plays QB, Shedeur Sanders, is at Colorado. I think Deion straight up said he was the starting QB.

the school doesn't give NIL deals? just companies or the player themselves with their own undertakings?

He said Shadeur is the starter. He literally told the other QBs to their face.
