Texas A&M. They reference their big brother in their fight song ffs. It doesn’t get more “little brother” than that
While I hate A&M, to be fair Texas also mentions A&M in their fight song. This seemingly goes unnoticed and everyone just rags on A&M. But on the flip, A&M definitely builds their entire identity around sticking it to the big brother in Austin. It’s not just the lyrics. It’s deeply embedded in their culture.
Texas doesn’t obsess over A&M the way A&M does toward Texas. Sure they don’t like them but Aggies are much worse. It’s not even close.
“ Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And it’s goodbye to A&M.
Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And we’ll put over one more win.”
Texas certainly obsesses over Oklahoma as they have been the horns daddy for the better part of 25 years. To the point where the thought of even the state of Oklahoma just triggers them. Maybe Texas will now obsess with Georgia as that seems to be their new daddy?

They sold Bama gear at the academy on Ambassador in 2012
The University dictates what gets sold at Academy? I have no skin in the game, but I could walk you around my little neighborhood in Lafayette and introduce you to at least six families that are originally from Alabama, husband and/or wife graduated from Alabama, or there is a kid that is going/went to Alabama.
I'd say behind ULL and LSU, Alabama and Notre Dame have the largest alumni in Lafayette. If that has anything to do with what is being sold at Academy, I don't know. But it was a ridiculous statement on your part.

1. TAMU
2. Oregon State
3. Washington State
Honorable mention:
Iowa State / Oklahoma State / NC State / Pitt

I would add that a little brother has never won anything of significance. If a school has national championships in football and basketball and hockey and baseball since 1950 or so then it is not a little brother.

As much as it pains me to say a taking off my gold colored glasses it’s gotta be GT to UGA. We used to rely on hoops and baseball to make up for the 4 decade domination in football but even though the games are always competitive UGA seems to have our number in all 3 major sports.
I do believe the gap is very minimal so this thing could turn around now that GT has a school Pres, AD, and coaches all on the same page. The 8 overtime game showed we are improving. Hoops is just random based on a couple of stud signings and if we ever get rid of the dinosaur leading our baseball program I think we can take off. But, as of today, they beat us in football (again), beat us in hoops, and baseball is TBD.

There are no little brothers. Even in the same state schools are very different and stand on their own. Most schools are good in certain sports even if it’s not football.

Its Auburn, not even close.
They compare absolutely everything they do and accomplish to Alabama. Everything.

Unless your athletic dept takes over $22 mil in public funding annually only to go 2-10 in football.

UVA is easily #1 if they had a real fanbase. VT beat them something like 28 of the last 30 years. UVA fans hate VT more then they like themselves and would rather go 1-11 every year then 12-1 with the VT game being the only one that matters. Irony is Hokie fans care more about playing Miami, FSU, Clemson, UNC, NC State and WVU then UVA
UVA’s general apathy towards athletics is definitely a thing, but they’ve still been the more successful program on the national stage the last decade plus. The Cavs have national titles in baseball and basketball, plus an Orange Bowl berth since Tech’s last ACC football championship.

UVA is like a Dean at a prestigious Prep School that thinks football is beneath them. Still holding onto student-athlete. Ehhh, if you get admitted based on merit you can play Lacrosse or women's field hockey. Its basically a glorified rich private high school.
Now should that be admired or disdained from Alums?

I'm taking this in a little bit of a different direction. What if OSU had even a semi-legit in-state rival?
UC is not pulling OSU targets and they don't play that often. Ohio has to be the best northern state for HS talent to recruit.
Would that impact their recruiting and/or dominance if they had to battle with an in-state program?
UM benefits from Ohio (the state) too. They have always recruited Ohio hard. Michigan HS football just doesn't put out the same amount of elite talent for whatever reason. 2 of 3 Michigan Heisman winners are from Ohio.... Charles Woodson and Desmond Howard.
I guess a similar question could be asked of Louisiana.
Just pondering. Most everyone in Ohio grows up an OSU fan by birth, so they grow up wanting to play/attend there. You have to split that with an in-state rival be it 50-50, 60-40, whatever.

Bammer is more of a big brother to Auburn because they are the premier brand in football and the most successful program of all time. Texas does own the Aggies but they are not dominant in football like Bammer . Aggies have been out recruiting Texas until the horns got into the sec
Bro what are you even talking about? Even though it’s dumb to just use one sport, Texas is much more dominant over A&M in that sport. Texas has a much better winning percentage over A&M than Bama does over Auburn. Auburn has a national title and played for another in the last 15 years. A&M hasn’t won a title since the 40’s.
Texas also owns them in multiple sports, basically all of them.

This thread is showing the age of some posters lol.
Vandy is too good at baseball to be in consideration.
Auburn is a little brother but FAR from the "ultimate" little brother.
A&M is a good answer but its probably Okie State

A&M has always been the poster child for this, and also were left out of the discussions to bring Texas to the SEC which is just dirty
A&M will be eventually proven right about Texas.
They've destroyed every conference they've been a part of because they only think me instead of we. Watch & learn.

Without Beamer, their football team is rather irrelevant.
UVA has recent national championships in baseball and basketball and lacrosse.
Meanwhile Va Tech is 1 of 3 Power 5 schools to never win a team national championship.

Kansas State in basketball. I think Kansas won like 48 out 51 at one point, including 24 straight in Manhatten. In the Octagon of "meh"
