Who Dey vs Who Dat

Today was my first time hearing the "Who Dey" chant of the Bengals and one can’t help but wonder did they steal it from the Saints? It’s way too close and hell even if they came up with Who Dey first the Saints definitely own the Who Dat chant and everybody knows that, the Bengals need to come up with something different.
All that said I’m rooting for em in the Super Bowl and hoping Joe Burrow wins it for them. I noticed in his post game interview he had on an LSU rubber wrist band thingy.

Bengals were doing Who Dey in 1981 when they went to their first super bowl.
When did Who Dat start?

Pretty sure there is a thread a few pages back on how this started in 1981.
Who Dat started in 1983 from what I've read.
Neither team stole it from the other.
/thread.

I’ll always be a Who Dat and don’t care when it started, but I’m riding with The Who Dey’s right now. Outside of the Saints I’ve never been this invested in an NFL team.

Who Dat came from HBCUs like Southern and Alcorn St. Eventually got to LSU and Saints.

"Who Dey" started with the Super Bowl year of 1981 in Cincy. There is a brewer in Cincinnati called Hudepohl that started in 1885. They marketed "HuDey" beer to celebrate the Bengals as a play on the name of the company. It stuck.
Cincinnati decorates their stadium like a jungle. You might think this has something to do with a Bengal tiger. It actually has to do with GnR being everywhere in 1988, the same year the Bengals were having another Super Bowl run. Welcome to the Jungle became the team's motto and it's stuck ever since.
Some traditions die hard, I guess. Anyway, yeah, 1981 was the year of "Who Dey"

"Who Dat" was started by the Chitimacha people around 6000 years ago. Maybe Who Dey was created before that... I don't know.

Legend has it that when the tribe from southern Ohio and the tribe from southern Louisana crossed paths that the leader of the Ohio tribe said "Who Dey?".
A few minutes later the Louisiana tribe spotted the Ohio tribe and the tribe leader said "Who Dat?".
So "Who Dey" was first by 120 seconds.

From St Aug to the LSU Tiger football team to the Saints, I think, right?

If you’re an NFL fan, then you’ve been under a rock.

So do some research

Got it, so you think they ‘stole’ it, but even if they didn’t, they should change it, because on a Louisiana message board your assumption is that it’s not as popular as a Saints cheer.
You’re so stupid.
And your question is answered multiple times in this thread.

The Bible tells us God rested on the 7th day, but He in truth spoke Who Dey into existence.
