Pre-NIL and portal when geographic location was much more important than it is now.

Eventually this will settle out and a cap will exist. We’ll go back to things like location and playing time mattering. Programs are already hiring “GMs”

It won’t be like the early 2000s but it will certainly settle out.

So you just don’t know what a recruiter/ceo type is and will make up a definition to “prove” your own bullshite claims.

I would be genuinely shocked if he left them for another college job. Born and raised in Louisville, played for Louisville, etc.

It would indeed be shocking to see someone leave their hometown to pursue greater professional ambitions.

Do 90% of you guys work for your fricking alma mater because y’all make it seem like that is the pinnacle of all things coaching

Brohm is one of those exceptions in that it’s always been known here locally he wanted to be back at UofL.

He’s coached at both WKU and Purdue as an HC. He and both his brothers Greg and Brian played for UofL. His family is pretty deeply rooted in the community here. From all accounts he was waiting for UofL to call him home as HC. Money isn’t an issue for the family either, he’s well set.

That is his ambition. I don’t see him giving that up for anything less than an NFL job.

Played sports with him growing up. He's a good guy and will be a head coach somewhere sooner than later.

When he dies we can revisit (although I imagine he has 8-9 figures dedicated to UO when he dies)

It’s just a factor I would be considering if I were an elite coach.

Look at Okie State post T Boone Pickens…

This is where school admins and fans become extremely stupid and put themselves in these awful financial situations like Kelly, Franklin, etc.

Take Lea and Key. Both have rode high quality QB’s so what if you throw yet another huge contract at them and in 2 years you are right back to Kelly territory? I think both Lea and Key stay with big raises from their Alma maters. With coaches being fired so quickly would you rather get 8 million from a place you can stay for years comfortably or go to a pressure cooker where you make a bad QB call that sets you back 3 years and gets you fired.

Lea was about to get fired before they stole the entire NMSU football program.

Major question marks with him IMO.
