Can only speak for myself but I always enjoyed sports to escape the day-to-day, work, politics, the general stresses of life.

I could cheer my team and high-five someone not knowing or giving a shite if we agreed politically.

I also enjoyed not really knowing or giving a shite what Jordan, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Maravich , etc had to say about the politics or current events of the time.

Do MeBron and others forfeit a right to have an opinion? Of course not. But I miss the days when the most of the gifted athletes who we paid good money to watch and support had a recognition and respect to keep their game focused on the game and their personal opinions limited to closer circles.

When he pretty much said he didn’t like white people on his show.

If he doesn’t like me because of my skin color then that Makes him a racist and that’s something I’m not a fan of

As soon as he realized he wasn’t the greatest of all time by needing the help of other superstars to win titles. Then his idiocy of getting involved in political banter has upped his douchebaggery.

Hmmm...so many options...

Let's see...

Faking a hate crime
Being a racist
Supporting the CCP
His "Decision"
Childish mocking of Dirk in the Finals

But overall spouting off about ANYTHING other than basketball when he is SO UNBELIEVABLY STUPID it makes my brain hurt.

When he started acting like a crybaby bitch, which was a long time ago. He doesn’t have the mindset to be the GOAT. Only the physical ability. You must have both.

If it wasn't for sports... where would lebron be or what would he do in life?

The guy sure likes being the victim... I doubt he would function well in normal society.

There's so much low hanging fruit with him, you don't even need the politics to dislike him.

This right here.

-The Decision was terrible, but in time that could be given a pass
-making fun of Dirk…very immature. You don’t see other NBA greats doing that shite

Then he became political, and it’s snowballed. For a guy who cares so much about his own reputation, he’s tone deaf. He won many fans back when he went to Cleveland and won. Then he was back at it shortly thereafter.

He has a more inflated sense of worth than possibly any athlete of our era. He’s one of those guys that doesn’t know when he’s being laughed at. The audacity to call people uneducated on topics they have every right with which to speak on…the graffiti…taco Tuesday. It’s laughable how blind he is. He personifies the dumb jock who is only famous because he can dribble and dunk, despite the fact that he’s tried harder than ever to prove otherwise.

Meanwhile, you have Shaq and Charles acting like they don’t even want to be on TV anymore, joking about not knowing what players are on what teams, saying whatever comes to mind, and they are loved MUCH more.

I would listen to Shaquille before I would listen to LeBron.

The decision was awful but those Nike commercials going into the season were even worse

I started actively rooting against him when he left Cleveland and there was a sudden influx of Miami fans. It all spiraled downhill from there with the political and narcissistic shite.

I can't say I ever liked LeBron. Always seemed like an arrogant a-hole to me.

Nobody will admit it, but they started hating him when it appeared he could surpass or come close to MJ early in his career and some millenials and gen x felt like their childhood was threatened

He is a world class dickhead now, but the hate started far before that. Just go look up the threads when he brought the Cavs to the nba finals against the spurs

That may well be the case for some - does not apply for me I rooted against Jordan every minute he played. But I have no issue in regard to who the GOAT is and it's Jordan.

My problem with LeBron is how poorly he's purported himself in numerous ways involving numerous topics and issues over many years.

Him becoming overly political is what did it for me. Particularly the Morey & and graffiti situations.

The NBA in general going super political has turned me off to the league as a whole - was always just a casual anyway, so my loss isn’t a big one
