When did the majority start disliking LeBron?

I liked him until he left the heat. I think after all that he got too big in his head and thought of himself as better than everyone else at life.

The Decision did irreparable harm to his reputation among regular fans. It hasn’t impacted his money whatsoever so maybe he doesn’t care but what a fricking terrible idea in retrospect

I've always recognized his incredible talents and did not mind "the decision." I was suspicious about the "graffiti hate crime" claim, but that didn't make me dislike him. It just made understand he is an attention whore like every other celebrity. However, once he made those misguided comments on Daryl Morey, China, and Hong Kong, the die was cast.
I also think it's more challenging these days to be liked or loved by the majority of Americans. It's a very polarizing time.

For me it was when a white cop saved a young black woman from getting stabbed and he tried to incite racial based violence

I have several;
1. when he started acting like anyone gave a shite about his political opinion.
2. when he quit playing and cried after EVERY SINGLE frickING PLAY
3. the decision
4. for being the most dominant basketball player maybe ever, he's such a self seeking little cry baby.

It was definitely LeDecision (for the general population, not for me). People pick and choose when they want hubris and when they don't and are fickle about it. I didn't particularly care for The Decision from a purely personal standpoint, but I'm also mature enough to realize it was a 24 year old kid who had the basketball world by the balls and was in a world of a sports culture that celebrated verbose announcements (hello, signing day and the purpose for this website).

Some time around the Lakers move. I was a huge Lebron guy for a decade but eventually he just became too big of a douche

For most people it was The Decision, though that could’ve been overlooked if he would have, as Candace Owens famously suggested, “shut up and dribbled”. His insistence on giving his two cents on everything from politics to cultural issues when even in basic conversation you can tell he’s dumb as a motherfricker is why most people don’t like him.

The Decision and other off-court stuff are the obvious answers, but there is also something to be said for how he's conducted himself on the court and in the locker room.
PREFACE - I don't have a problem with players or coaches doing whatever it takes to win a championship. Sometimes a change of scenery is in order. Look at what Andy Reid and the Chiefs are doing right this very moment.
Jumping from team to team (way more than most all time greats), blowing up rosters and trading for his friends (LeGM), forcing organizations to go all in and leaving decimated rosters when he decides to go somewhere else, throwing unbelievable tantrums when he doesn't get a call, etc. are on-the-court/in-the-locker-room reasons why some people don't like LeBron.

This was me, I understood “The Decision” was partly to blame on sports media but his overt opinions on things outside of basketball coupled with calling himself the greatest made me switch camps.
Hopefully after he is done with the league and has a few years to repair his image then we can forget all of that mess because he is actually a really really good player. I have him easily in the Top 5.

I was a huge LeBron fan 10 years ago. He turned into a giant bitch and I kind of hate him now.
Dude is an incredible athlete and top 3 player of all time, though. That’s non debatable

I'd say when he started sharing his political views. I want to see a basketball player play basketball. I don't need him to sway my vote or tell me how bad I am for being white!
