LSU - baseball. It's all of a decade old and at the bottom of the totem pole as far as SEC ballparks.

I also went to Wrigley just prior to renovations. I sat in the bleachers. I can appreciate the weird and narrow concourses and tiny bathrooms placed into an obscure corner. It’s worth it for the neighborhood and historical experience.

Atlanta's Truist Park is kind of dull if you're talking about aesthetics only.

The Cowboys built Jerry World East and West, nearly every other stadium in the US is built North/South.

So every time we have a 3:30 pm home game by the third qtr you have the sun shinning through the giant windows onto the field. It has had an effect on several games.

Agreed.

It was time to move out of Candlestick. The Giants new stadium is often considered one of the best in all of MLB. On the other hand, Levis stadium is a weirdly designed venue over an hour away from San Francisco.

That said, I went to Comerica last summer. It is a very nice park

I concur. I loved the outside of it and was pleasantly surprised with my whole Detroit experience.

Never visited this one, but also wish I had. I’m curious how it would have compared to the other gems of the era.

I'm talking about the "new" Comiskey that was built in like 1990 right before Camden Yards changed everything in baseball architecture.

Most football fields in the NFL are oriented north to south so that players will not be hindered by sunlight, but there is not a rule that makes the fields run north to south.

There are a few stadiums, such as the ATT stadium, that run east to west. The NFL has no official stance on whether stadiums should be oriented north to south or east to west

quote:

Yes, the sun has a chance to become a storyline again at AT&T Stadium. The $1.2 billion stadium was built the wrong direction — east-west instead of north-south — and the sun setting during afternoon games has caused headaches for receivers ever since.
The sun beams through the west windows every afternoon game.

quote:

Jones said the organization took the stadium direction into account when designing and constructing it. Even though most venues around the league are built north-south, the Cowboys opted for east-west.
“We thought about that all the time,” Jones said. “You’ve also got to think about the land and you’ve got to think about the best way to set the stadium. So, there’s nothing that doesn’t have many things to think about as opposed to it

It really is. I went to the Titans/Rams Sunday night game last year and was blown away. It was cool entering the field at club level. The field is below street level and the open air with a canopy concept nailed the California weather vibe. We sat club level and got food and beverages super fast and the food tasted great.

That said, I come from watching games at Nissan Stadium...

Atlanta replacing both their football and baseball stadiums in a relatively short amount of time still blows my mind.

Old Tiger Stadium tops them all for me. Seen 7-8 games there but it was a dump at the end...the neighborhood was worse.

But wow, you were on top of the field which was really cool.

Good thing the Cowboys never get the 3:00 Fox game of the week

I've heard a lot of complaints about the 49ers new stadium.

Most of it was political/financial between the team and the earlier stadium's owner:

Georgia Dome: State of Georgia paid for most of the cost and got most of the revenue, Falcons explored buying the stadium but GWCCA refused. Blank also wanted his own Jerry World in Atlanta and to also have a place that could easily host an MLS franchise

Turner Field: Braves were looking to go to the burbs in 1989-90 when the Olympic bid was won by ATL, Lease was only 20 years with two five-year options, wanted the city of Atlanta to spend nine-figures on renovations/development, and Cobb gave them a better (for the Braves) deal with the Battery/Truist.

Truist Park is very nice but I don't think there is anything particularly unique about it. Compared to Turner Field its harder to get to and maybe out of as well, parking is worse. But the Braves needed an upgrade.

I hate that the field is fake turf. Every other stadium but the Rays has nice grass field. I guess the Rangers did it for environmental purposes?

The Texans. Astrodome should have never stopped being used.
