What teams screwed up when they built a new stadium?

I’m not talking finances, mostly just fan interaction, atmosphere, aesthetics, etc. We’ve had some nice ballpark threads on here, and the consensus is that places like Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and San Diego nailed their new digs. I’m wondering what the MSB opinion is on teams that failed in this venture.
I think almost any cookie cutter was a downgrade: Forbes-Three Rivers, Sportsman’s-Busch, Crosley-Riverfront.
New Yankee doesn’t seem to match what Old Yankee could provide, except the concourses are bigger
For football, I think Soldier Field fits this category.

South Carolina when they built the Colonial life Arena.
maybe not the reply youre looking for but we built it for our new basketball arena and its good for concerts but bad for basketball.

LSU baseball deserved much better than what was delivered in the new Box.

Atlanta replaced the Georgia Dome with a literal a-hole.

Comiskey Park in Chicago is the first thing that comes to mind.
Fed-Ex Field in Washington is another one.

Other than the AC I'm really torn on the new Globe Life Field. There's nothing really bad about the park but there's really nothing special about it either. It feels very corporate now compared to the old park. Plus add in a lot of the new policies (no outside food, no access to lower concourse without ticket down there, etc.) and it just doesn't have the same game day experience that the old ballpark allowed.
That being said I'll just settle for it given the AC and not having to go watch games in the heat during the summer time in Texas.

New Comiskey as built and MetLife.

Chargers and Rams. SoFi looks amazing but moving to LA was asinine. On the other hand, I was blown away last year with how much Vegas supported the Raiders in their new stadium.

They had a very interesting youtube breaking down all of the baseball ballparks on this topic recently....
Very interested to see what others say....
If you travel to many of these stadiums you'll have better opinions than others, but I can tell you I did NOT go to Wrigley pre renovations.... and I still get/got the vibes when I visited post renovations. I think places with so much HISOTRY should stand and help captivate some of not only sports' best memories but memories this country has seen...
Instead places plow through and move onto the next hottest trendy design...

The Edwards Jones dome in St Louis was soulless and not much of an upgrade to Busch.

I visited in August of 2015 when they were just starting some of the work and Wrigley showed its age.

You can blame a weak AD trying to copy/paste the seating and dimensions of Old AB but then adding suites above.
Fans at the time were lined up with torches and pitchforks clamoring to "save the old box"...

Pro level they nailed it. Pitt deciding to use the same field the Steelers do which is a hike from campus has severely hurt their fan attendance for football games. Don't bother looking up attendance numbers either. They count tickets sold not people through gates.

Braves got it right.
Falcons got it wrong.
While the GA Dome was dated, they replaced it with a silver sphincter that values aesthetics over function. It has a lot of ergonomic issues, such as cramped restrooms and narrow concourses, and the open air roof doesn't even provide much of a breeze let alone outdoor element.
New Yankee Stadium is remarkably sterile considering the history of that franchise.

Not really a team per se, but the Omaha replacing Rosenblatt with TD Ameritrade and another minor league park was definitely a downgrade.

Perhaps the old Orange bowl was in the same location, but the current stadium is in such an unappealing spot that I don’t blame Canes and Dolphins fans for staying home

Wish I could have seen a game here. I saw the stadium from the outside months before it met the wrecking ball.
I heard the owners pretty much let it deteriorate to the point that a replacement was absolutely necessary. That said, I went to Comerica last summer. It is a very nice park, and has helped revitalize downtown a bit, but Tiger Stadium was close enough to downtown. The Corktown neighborhood isn’t at all what it used to be. They’ve done a nice job of preserving some Tiger Stadium history at the field currently occupying the spot.

Never visited this one, but also wish I had. I’m curious how it would have compared to the other gems of the era.
