Dan Patrick
The internet/twitter
MLB Network
NFL Network
I understand Bill King is pretty good, but I've only listened in passing.

Have to agree. The other show on Fox Sports with Andy Roddick and a couple other ex athletes is also terrible

mad dog radio is pretty good as the guys are very opinionated and don't toe the company line like guys on espn and similar channels.

as much hate as espn gets on here, I'm sure life would be a lot worse if espn didn't exist.

Agreed...I really enjoy the fact that the guys on that channel are able to talk about controversial stuff and spark conversation and don't have to fit into the ESPN talking points...Adam Schein is my favorite

I enjoy watching MLB Network, NBA TV etc

This. The channels dedicated to individual sports or leagues are the best

Fox Sports has the mid-late 90's style of SportsCenter with the substance almost resembling that which is found on the sports specific networks like NBAtv. If you are looking for specific coverage of a sport, that is your best bet. If you can, only watch regular season basketball on TNT and NBAtv. Avoid espn and espn on abc like the plague.

I get most of my sports news from here and reddit. More fan interaction and less tabloid bullshite.

I listen to DP and browse the internet - I haven't watched Sportscenter or the talking idiot shows in years.

Something tells me you've never watched 90's sportscenter.

CBS sports is pretty damn good, especially their coverage of college football and basketball.

Fox Sports is also pretty good.

NBC Sports isn't bad at all but they need to widen their scope. Right now they are mainly hockey, soccer, and golf.

FS1 is good. Its still new so of course they are going to go through growing pains. Over time they will continue to get better. Go back and look at ESPN when they were still growing. With football season approaching, look for FS1 to make a HUGE improvement due to their contract with college football. FS1 is the only alternative to ESPN at this point IMO.

I really can't watch or listen to their tabloid, TMZ-esque bull shite anymore. I love me some Dan Patrick. What or who is a reasonable replacement?
XBMC/Live Sports only.

But really.

If the story is big enough for ESPN to talk about it, it will be posted on the MSB with quickness.

DP got to be too much grab assing between he and the danettes, I haven't listened in a while.

I thought FS One was going to try and position themselves as the alternative, instead they're just the retarded cousin

I usually stick to NFL.com/NFL Network.. I know they get a lot of hate but I enjoy their analysts/writers a LOT more than ESPN. I'll never understand the fascination with watching SportsCenter... Sure, you'll get what you like EVENTUALLY after you sort through all the bullshite in sports no one gives a frick about. I could care less about shite like softball.

Well the NFL network has the distinct advantage of being football only.

ESPN is a sports network (not a network that occasionally has sports shows or a network that is dedicated to one sport).

When you are having to fill 24 hours of airtime with sports content across several ESPN channels, you're going to have lackluster/repeat time.

There are some aspects to ESPN that could use improvement, but overall I'm not entirely sure why they get so much hate.

And to be fair, it's not like they are devoting much time (if any) to softball highlights. As for games, I'm sure they are under contract to show them, not to mention, what else would they be showing in dry spell of sports known as July?
