What is the most difficult sport that you ever played or took on?

For me it’s easily golf. I’m no great athlete, but I excelled in just about every sport that I played. Golf was a different story. I started playing in my late teens, and played through my early thirties. At that point, I got so frustrated that I just put the game down. I recently started playing again at 55 because my sons have taken an interest in the game.
It hasn’t gotten any easier.

Squaring up a baseball consistently that is coming at you 90+ mph with movement is the hardest thing to do in competitive sports, golf a close second.

I would have to agree with golf. The only sports I was ever really good at anyway are basketball and running.

Depends on what you mean by difficult?
Even the most difficult to train for depends on the definition. The shittiest sport to train for, bar none, is running the 400m.
The truly most difficult sport to train for that I've done is boxing. The discipline required on a daily basis is unreal, and then if you're actually getting better than implies you're sparring guys better than you at least 3-4x a week. I've done it for over a decade but I vary in and out of real training vs. Don't get fat and get my arse kicked training.
In terms of a sport that you can train, learn, and spend all your time working on for very little results... that's easy. Arguing with a woman.

I never played baseball at a level that required me to face 90+ with movement.

Golf isn’t a sport. It’s a game.

Boxing. We used to box as physical training in the Marines and it was the hardest to get good at for me. Not only the endurance required, but the footwork and the ability to think straight while getting hit in the face.

don't worry, neither did the guys who posted that

Because everyone can go out to a course and directly compare themselves to a pro to see how hard it is. All you need is a course and clubs to see directly how bad you are
But nobody gets to go have a try playing football against pros, or basketball, or tennis etc. to see just how bad they really are there as well
They think “hey, I played in high school. This isn’t that hard”.
Trust me, as bad as you feel at golf, you are actually that bad at those other sports as well

I’ve played every sport.
Golf is by far the hardest.
I’ve ‘quit forever’ like 5 times in the last 25 years.

I’m infinitely better at golf and baseball than I am at running long distances.

I’m like did you die playing today? No, ok then you are lying, because tennis and soccer would literally kill you

Was a pretty good athlete growing up, and enjoyed football, baseball, and basketball.
Took up hockey when I was in early high school, and it was like learning to walk all over again. Then, transitioned to goaltender as a senior. Brand new learning curve.
By far the hardest sport I've ever played, but also the most enjoyable.

No clue but the sport I was by far the worst at was the pole vault.

That almost makes it sound like baseball isn’t the most boring form of torture ever devised by man

Golf is definitely the hardest mechanically to get and stay good at. Requires a great deal of practice and consistency. I didn’t get into it until my 20s and find it as much a mental game as anything else.
Physically taxing was definitely football, and specifically those mid afternoon practices in the sweltering Louisiana heat and humidity. Game time was usually much easier being at night, though it’s physical so injuries happen.

Golf is so insanely frustrating because its incredibly simple yet incredibly difficult all at once
